So where does the spear fit in the rock, paper, scissors?

After hours of playing I figured out what works best with others.
Sword: Strong against Bow. Able to block shots and even knock shots back.
Hammer: Strong against Sword. Since it can't be blocked.
Bow: Strong against Hammer. Hammer can't block arrows.

So where does the spear fit in here?

As far as I know, spear beats armor.
If you have a shield you've got blockage against arrows and sword hits as long as they hit the shield.
If anything, hammer beats spear.
Jetpacks also make enemies difficult to hit with the spear.

When it comes to single player * as i never play multiplayer ( can't find anyone ) * i feel that the spear can probably take most of the weapons spot albeit being mediocre at fulfilling their roles, being able to hold its own again'st the other weapons.
I feel that the spear interacts pretty strangely with other weapons or bots with certain upgrades.
while i usually use a bow again'st hammer bots, i find myself using the shield and spear more often again'st hammer bots thanks to the protection the shield gives. The shield bash upgrade is pretty strong too, and shield bashing is pretty effective again'st jetpack bots, a summary of my experience with the spear is:

*Spear VS Hammers/Hammer bots: Wouldn't recommend unless you have the shield upgrade and fire upgrade for the spear, shield bash also helps. Since Hammer bots are big, it is pretty easy to poke em and kill em with spears. the shield pretty well protects you from the hammer, if you block a hammer with the shield, you get knocked back like if you survived a hammer because of armor.

*Spear VS Swords/Sword Bots: I notice sword bots alot of times trying to avoid the shield, swinging sidewards more often when i have it equiped. i do notice these bots trying to dodge my spears and shield bashes pretty often, i usually have a easier time again'st them simply using a sword or hammer

*Spear VS Bows/ Bow Bots?: ... Just use the sword

*Spear VS Jetpacks/ Jetpack Bots: Don't even try unless you have the shield bash upgrade, why the shield bash upgrade? well its pretty easy to bash the bots when they rush towards you, then you just stab em in teh head.

* Spear VS Spidertrons: Spidertron4000? sure, spidertron 5000, eh i can't hit it without poking his legs first so i wouldn't reccomend it

Basically the spear can take most of the weapons spots though pretty bad at doing so

Very well thought out there. : ) I agree with just about all of those points especially the bow. A spear is useless on them. But I would think a spear would be good to jump poke spidertrons if you have the fire.

i guess that's true, though in my experience i can't hit spidertron 5000's for ♥♥♥♥ with the spear, let me edit the spidertron part to reflect that

I think the spear is more of a "Jack of all trades master of none" thing, the shield has limited arrow blocking capacity, the spear and deny most defensive, sword based barriers, it can block hammers it can knock over jetpack bots, but it doesn't give you full protection against arrows, and
it is easy to miss sword bois with the spear, the hammer can also go to the side or go over the shield so it can do a lot, it is one of the more "Swiss army knife" weapons because of all this.

Spear vs Hammer
Shield is the BEST defence against hammer, it makes you almost invicible.
Sure, armor blocks hammer too, but even then you can lose a leg or an arm quite often.
And shield has unlimited uses unlike armor

Spear vs Sword
Shield protects you from swords just as good as the sword does, so i think they are equal in blocking. (not sure, but I think that Shield has higher Stability than Sword, needs testing)
Spear requires more skill to use , but at the same time is almost impossible to block, instant kill by poking enemies head is very cool too

Spear vs Bow
Shield is the same at blocking arrows as sword, unfortunately, tis ability cant be upgraded, but you get defence against al weapons for 1 upgrade point so its worth it
But if you like Deflecting Arrows III then go for Sword

Spear vs Spidetron
You can defeat 5000 without cutting his legs, for 6000, Hammer3/Bow/Sword is better

Spear vs Jetpack
With enough skill you can poke charging jetpack even before he reaches you because of superior range and attack speed faster than hammer. Instant kill guaranteed

Spear vs Armor
Best counter for Armor, fast attack to the head instantly kills an enemy and cant be blocked.
Hammer can do similiar job, but needs to be upgraded at least once and we all know that it sometimes glithes and triggers shoulder armor before destroying the head

Spear With Jetpack
Very cool, it cant do sideways swings like sword, but it cant be blocked, so its better in some situations. Well, pre-nerf Hammer III or Sword with Unbalance II was way superior but we cant do that anymore lol

tldr: Spear with Shield is the best counter for Hammer bots and Armor, not as good vs Bows as fully upgraded sword and its bad against Spidetron 6000

spear has a better defense mostly then the sword, being the only weapon to when with fire to be unable to hit and not kill and blocking the hammers, arrows, spears and swords, but not bombs or kicks, but can be taken out by attacking the side the shield is not held on, it fits in as metal, can't be damaged unless hit hard enough or in a weak spot, bu when on fire deadly as crap

Honestly I'm finding the shield bash very helpful for enviromental kills and for jetpacks.
