Weather changing a area to a specific weather type?
Ive been trying to change weather in a area to a certain type to hunt a certain monster. Do i need to leave the whole area and come back or just leave the area map i am on and come back? The only one i had not done this with is the rainy season south of Rabastnastia..spelling?

The Giza Plains are special. The dry/wet season cycle is based on the in-game clock and will cycle through continuously; there's no way to manually affect that.

For other areas, weather such as rain, clouds, storm, etc. generally change whenever you enter the larger area (i.e. not a sub-zone). If you want a specific weather there (like e.g. overcast in Tchita Uplands) you will have to zone from a different area (e.g. from Phon Coast into Tchita Uplands).

Note that some weather patterns can take a while to get.

HOWEVER there's a few special ones related to certain events. Rain in Giza - Tracks of the Beast (related to the Gil Snapper hunt) will change when zoning into that sub-area; you don't need to leave the Giza Plains entirely. And the blizzard that's part of the Fafnir hunt will ALWAYS start when you talk to the person who offers the hunt (even after already accepting it), and it will ALWAYS end when entering Paramina Rift - Frozen Brook. Outside of that hunt, blizzards in Paramina follow the normal pattern, i.e. need to zone out of the area.

Speaking of Tchita Uplands..that is the one i need to be cloudy or overcast. I am hunting lindworm mark. According to the walkthrough i am using, it needs to be cloudy or overcast. So do i walk from one named map area to another on the world map, or from specific maps to others? Please use my lindworm mark as a example please..still a bit confused. Thanks for trying to help me.

Right now i keep going back and forth from Sochen cave to Tchita uplands, but i have yet to get the weather i needed. So far it always seems sunny in Tchita Uplands..been going between the maps about 20 times so far and no weather change..must be super random or something.

UPDATED: Had to go over 2 different maps..and finally it started to change weather. Went all the way to Salikwoods and back to Tchita Uplands..hope it is not this hard for changing weather for other monsters.

You need to switch from a zone that's not Tchita Uplands, so "from the world map" - you can use Phon Coast, Sochen Cave Palace, or Cerobi Steppes. Zone back and forth from one of those until it's overcast (no blue sky, but also no rain) and that should work fine. Don't worry if you see rain in other zones, it'll work once you get to Lindwurm's zone.

EDIT: it can take a while to get the right weather, sometimes randomness can get you
