Game DOESN'T START
About a week ago I was playing normally.

Now every time I run the game it shows the nvidia and steam tabs, close the nvidia, and when is closing the steam tab it glitches and crashes.
I already checked the game files, it was everything ok. Then I unninstaled it and reinstalled, and the same thing happens. I even tried reinstalling steam. But nothing changed, everytime the same error.

That shouldnt be happening since I was playing normally and I have CPU i5-7500, 8Gb RAM, and NVIDIA 1660.

Someone having this problem?

PS. I already sent an e-mail to Square but had no answer until now.
PS. 2. Every other game is running normally

Have you tried disabling the Steam/nVidia overlays?

Have you tried starting the game directly and not through Steam?

The overlay option I didn't know about. Now I tried it and since the steam tab does not appear it sticks on a black screen.

I have tried starting directly, but the same thing happens.

Most times, I forgot to mention it, I can only close the game on the task management

Are you able to open the config tool? Try changing the resolution and switching between windowed/fullscreen, as that can sometimes at least allow you to open the game.

No sucess doing this
I am having this issue as well, with all of my FF games.

No other games in my steam library seem to be having issues, just Square Enix games.

Veles, have you contacted them? They asked me a lot of questions, I am waiting for my second response of them.

Looks like square is really messing something up here. How can this be that their games aint running were they worked before?

That actually points to someone else being at fault, not Square. Nothing changed on their end, the game wasn't updated or anything so it's likely some other thing that's different now. Could be Steam, could be a driver, could be a number of things.

First eliminate the obvious candidates - do driver updates, verify game files with Steam, all that. Next, check the settings - a reset might have put you on a configuration that doesn't quite work with your system, so fiddle around with resolutions, windowed mode, all that.

It can be hard to find where the fault lies sometimes, but don't give up! Often it's just one small thing somewhere and it's just a matter of identifying it.

Thanks, you're right, indeed there is almost no update or anything that could've changed something.

I did those things, but still can't :/ Are you having the same issue @Hinnyu? Could you solve it?

Other things to try:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/595520/discussions/0/1727575977525453079/ (choose a refresh rate of 60 Hz for your monitor)
https://steamcommunity.com/app/595520/discussions/0/1700541698699244341/ (windowed mode and/or rotate 90 degrees)
https://steamcommunity.com/app/595520/discussions/0/1700541698686687566/ (reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable files. If a newer installation prevents you from installing the 2015 version, uninstall the newer versions, then install version 2015, and if it works, you can try to install the newer versions back)
