No Darkblade for me :v
Apparently some classes need quickenings to unlock things, i was naively counting on an esper to unlock it...

Shikari is special in that respect, and it's been annoying players without end. Sadness :(

You would have to open RNG chests to get it anyway... only a 3% chance on chests to get it. Unless you want to kill a rare monster or steal it in trial 98 ( Undoable without ribbons, which also have a low chance to get ) Most of the end game stuff revolves around RNG, its not really fun or challangeing, it depends on luck... A powerful weapon you can get is Excalibur from the great crystal after you defeat and obtain the esper Ultima, used togheter with white robes that boosts its damage, its a really good weapon.

What are you talking about? The Great Crystal has a chest that spawns at 25% and contains a Yagyu Darkblade 100% of the time. It literally takes like 3 minutes to get.

And heck, even chaining Bombshell is super trivial. Compared to some other high-tier weapons it's definitely one of the easiest to get.

Meh, i skipped it for now, finnished FFXII and started to play FFX instead, FFX got a better end game that doesn't rely on luck to get the best weapons, instead locked behind minigames, the worst being Wakka and Kimahri's weapons. Wakka = Blitzball, Kimahri = Dodge Lightnings.

Upload your save and I'll unlock it.

Kimahri is the butterfly minigame. Dodging lightning is for Lulu's weapon.

I get the feeling you might just not know all the details, because out of all the endgame weapons in FFXII almost none of them are actually about luck. Most are from the bazaar, in fact, meaning you can work at getting them and will do so reliably with very little luck (some minor drop variance aside). Heck you can even start working on some of them super early (one of the Tournesol components is literally available to farm while you still have only Vaan). It's about as fair and reasonable as it gets for such systems. Crafting with components is one of the best ways to do it, because incremental advantages de-emphasize the binary nature of drop luck and smooth out the variance curve.

The only weapon that is purely about drop luck is Mina, which luckily is also not even close to the top in terms of damage output and can easily be skipped by anyone save completionists (who know what they're in for anyway).

Yes there are the stupid 0.1% chests in Cerobi Steppe, but they don't contain anything unique. All of it can be gotten in other places much, much more easily. It's just there for people who enjoy zoning 10,000 times to farm chests. Everyone reasonable just spends less time by progressing the story a little further and gaining access the easy way.

FFX has an awful end game and sidequests in general. Except for blitz ball. It's impossible to find anything in that game without a guide. Like don't get me wrong it's my second favourite after 12, but the amount of missable content and clairvoyant foresight you have to have is ridiculous.

People complain about forbidden chests in vanilla 12 but that's nothing compared to the garbage you have to do in 10. Chocobo riding, butterfly catching, blitzball grinding, lightning dodging, desert wandering. Awful.

Like what? Isn't the only missable thing some Al Bhed primers, really?
