FF12 International on PCSX2 vs this?
How is FF12 International Zodiac Job System on the PS2 different than this version? I still have my PS2 copy and can play it on my computer, so why would I pay $50 for such an old game that would probably look just as good emulated anyway? From what I can find, it's just a remaster of the IZJS version of the game. What am I missing here that can justify such a high price tag?

60 fps. 4k resolution. Ultrawidescreen support. Dual audio. New game plus and minus from the start of the game.

This has 60 fps and 3 soundtracks (in-game ps2, disk OST, orchestrated ost)

You can get 60 fps and 4k resolution on the PCSX2. I've never used an ultrawide display but I know it can be done on the emulator. So the only real plus for paying $50 is ng+ and a few soundtracks that I don't want? Not much incentive for me to re-buy the game.

Isn't the 60 fps patch on that broken though?

You also get the original version of the game here and aren't limited to the translation.

It's running at 60 fps just fine for me and I don't mind the translation. If this game was around $10, I'd re-buy it just for convenience sake to have in my STEAM library. At $50 though, I'll just stick with my PS2 copy.

Your ps2 game has nothing on this other than it costing you nothing. The ps2 version has ugly pop ins when it comes to faraway object getting closer and more detailed. This topic is trash

60 fps patch breaks FXII in PCSX2. Please stop spreading misinformation that it "runs just fine"

I actually iso'd my collectors edition and patched it with IZJS(english patch) a couple days ago with PCSX2. 60fps works just fine(except for some of the quickenings). Set res to 6x native. Turn off the speed hacks etc. There are a few missing audio files and translation misses but I've only seen 2 instances of this in 30 hours. Yup, of course there is pop-in on it. The only problem I have now, is I'm already bored with the game and don't feel like buying this version. I guess that's a good thing though. Now I can just wait for a 50% off sale.

The emulator looks awful

This is much better all around.

I wasn't aware there actually was a 60fps patch for the PS2 version.
But I've tried those on Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 and they kind of break some parts of the game.

But yea, the PS2 version on pcsx2 looks worse than this.

- low res textures
- no remastered/orchestrated soundtrack
- 30fps
- menus look more blurry
- no real time shadows, only flat 2D shadows
- LOD/viewing distance of objects is worse (NPCs look like standee figures in the distance)
- no water shaders or other new shader effects

I probably could add more thats missing..

You cannot get 60 fps with this game on the emulator, there is no 60 fps for this game. If you believe the game its 60 fps just because the emulator says 60 fps, then you don't know much.

Video or didn't happen. You do know how smooth 60 fps are? I think the emulator is giving you a placebo effect; the emulator is 60 fps, the games are PS2 native frame rate, 30 fps for FF XII games in this case.
