FFXII random freezing mid game

Ive been having this problem where the game will run fine at 60fps then every 10 mins or so the screen will freeze but can still hear the music. The freezing only lasts about 30 seconds then the game plays fine again but it happens so often that it becomes very anoying expecialy when your in a cutscene. Im running this on at gtx 970 i5 4690k and 16GBs of ram so im pretty sure its not my hardware as this game runs fine on my laptop with no issues. ive tried multiple drives as well with no luck at fixing this. Anyone else have this issue and fix it?

I noticed it happening around 45ish in game hours I think or maybe 39, I kept playing through it lol, I haven't gotten to Cid at all yet, just been doing side quests and stuff.

So far I haven't had any of the problems I experienced earlier. I'm at 49ish game hours atm.

nah I have had this problem at 0 hours to now at 21 my laptop can play this fine but main pc cant without the freezing.

Weird question to ask but do you have in the properties to have games download in the background on one and not the other, because that's the only other thing I could think of that may have caused it... I turned background download on just to downlolad FFXV pre-load. I had kept it on and maybe that's what could have caused it, but doubtful as I said it would be weird if that had any effect...

Yea I do have it on but dont think that could cause it but worth a try.

Wait wait, you don't have wrong, for example when open Steam i have "FF XV queue" (i finish the download), maybe the cause is this?

Maybe because a game is in queue steam keeps checking to see if it's still downloading it in the background while we're playing and it does the sudden hang of the game? Again just hypothesizing.

If you have right, we have the freeze/stuttering for 2 days, becuz FF XV release this Thrusday.

yea that sounds like something that might happen. I'll try it out today and see if that might be an issue.

I have finish the preload FF XV, but have download section "In Queue" i don't press the "X" for the close, and the bar windows the icon Steam is "green" like i downloading.

So any trouble after turning the download games in background to off? Only other thing I can say to try, albeit I didn't do it, is to turn off steam overlay for ff12.
