Hunt: Showdown 1896
Hunter control scheme toggle
So I've been playing a lot in gunslinger mostly because I'm used to other shooters and I would like to switch to hunter for immersion.

Problem is hunter controls are super clonky, I usually use "hold" to aim down sight but keeping 2 buttons held down to aim (3 considering I also hold down the lower DPI button of my mouse when aiming at range) is really unpractical and makes it much harder to control my aim properly.
I've tried setting it to "toggle" but that's even worse, getting your gun ready in hipfire remains in hold but ADS become toggle.

Is there any way, settings I didn't understood, modification of game file or anything really to have the "ready gun in hipfire" button on toggle and the ADS button on hold? Like I press 1 button once to get on and off hipfire position and when I'm in hipfire I hold 1 other button to ADS.

I hope what I'm asking is clear and there is a way to do that, it's really frustrating to not be able to play in hunter because they just didn't implement the toggle and hold parameter properly.

Thanks in advance

:) It's only because you're not used to it?

Holding mouse2 is pretty normal for most games. With this one, when setup correctly..you only have to tap another key. Really not that big of an issue.

The issue here is that some people prefer full control over toggle/hold of the button when it comes to aiming. In a game like this I cannot hold to aim, but the settings don't allow me to toggle to aim if I use hunter mode (can only toggle ADS). That's why I'm forced to use gunslinger.

But why would you do tap another key? Why not let the game automatically put you in hip fire mode as soon as you stop sprinting? Or just looking arround. Why would you not want to always ready to fire? I can not possibly be faster manually then the game put you aitomatically in hip aim mode.
Because it was originally a unique and interesting design choice. Which makes melee
slightly easier. Gunslinger doesn't belong in Hunt. Hunt wasn't supposed to be run 'n' gun. Although, they've clearly encouraged that each update.

There's pros and cons for both.

Since it's an option now, each to their own.

Sure. That's a problem.

Even if I think that Gunslinger is only implemented for the players who can't get used to a slightly different control scheme, I think it wouldn't hurt to implement an toggle feature.
It wouldn't give you any advantage in my eyes.
But the team behind Hunt isn't the biggest and Hunt has sadly bigger issues.

For your own made up reason I yes.

I would not use it with a toogle either. I so no point doing something the game can do for me better then I ever will.

"Risk aware" meaning the risk of not pushing the stupid button in time when the game can do it for you. Yeah please people go all play in Hunter.

Been using the Hunter controls since day 1. It works just fine, keep using Gunslinger if you can't use Hunter.
theres the fine option for separating the functions into different keys:
i have 2 different keys for sprinting and hipfire. also for bandaging and interaction. and, of course, i use keyboard and mouse but would surely do the same if played on a controller.

hunter scheme was the original design choice. gunslinger scheme happened when they didnt have the balls to keep their choices.

since they gave us these choices, just use the one thats better for you. it would be nice if they also gave us the choice of toggling what we want instead of only what they thought to be better.
I'd be highly surprised if the Hunter control scheme got you any further than playing an "Aware Gunslinger"
WTF are you guys on about? Rclick to toggle shoulder aim, shift to toggle ADS. Thats all we want. Very easy to implement. But maybe they want to promote using macro tools for such a simple feature...

pretty sure this guy is a papered moron.. like he has the papers to prove that he is. Attach a post with literally 2 words in it. I stated my preference and he has issue with it. If his friends didnt jack him off when he opened his mouth he would probably not act like this.. stay away from these people.
IF YOU PUT aim on toggle for the hunter you will have to press the same two buttons to ads. but will only have to hold one button. THat's what Ive been doing
I switched to the hunter scheme after 10 hours of game play. For some reason, I cannot apply a health kit or vitality shot any more. Right mouse button pressed, the preparation animation is visible. Pressing left, nothing happens. Could somebody help me noob out, please?

(My settings are default)
