Hunt: Showdown 1896

They removed shared weapons xp?!?!
So much for telling my friend "... you should get Hunt! I can help you progress your weapon variant unlocks..." ... I literally had a discussion with him today about it, only to find that apparently I lied to him. Looks like I'll continue to be a solo player =(

BUT they made unlocks way faster... no longer the 1500xp for a variant.. 450-600 max..

I don't like that base weapons are all unlocked now, lost most sense of progression.

well they also upped ep for ai :) grunts are 20 instead of 10 and meatheads are 300 so its still easy to get ep for weapons.. and quite fast

and even better exp OVERFLOW to the next lvl :) so you can get more then one unlock

People don't want to prestige because it's painful to lose everything.
Devs change it to this.

TBH I'd rather it just keep everything unlocked when prestiging like in Deep Rock Galactic.

That'd be nice, I think. But then progression would be lost entirely after a certain point. I think it might have been a better approach to give a permanent unlock token for a specific weapon with each prestige as one of the choices, and allow people to keep their current hunt dollars so that prestiging hurts less and we're able to pick and choose from whether we want a permanent unlock token, extra XP bonus, or a random legendary skin.

So to sum up:
Keep current hunt dollars
On Prestige, remove the 2000 hunt dollar option and add a permanent unlock token option instead.

Users would then be able to not stress about money on prestige, progression continues as normal, and the user gets to pick between a legendary skin (which isn't always available), extra XP bonus, or a weapon unlock token that keeps that weapon unlocked for good. Unlock also works for ammo, tools and utility, but you only get *one*, if you choose it.

That's a lot better! I still don't like that I have to noodle to let him get all the kills he can get, but at least the xp required is in a much more comfortable place now.

I'm glad the base models are all unlocked now. It helps (imo) give new players the same weaponry that vets have access to. Still have to unlock all the variants/ammo, so I don't (personally) feel a loss in sense of progression.

Think of it this way:
Before they punished solos, now they just behave all the same.
No more triple levelling speed in trios.
