Why the Removal of Generators?
In the new update, they said they are removing generators.

This game has a perfect world building and scene, they make sense, while providing no advantage, they give a major world building sense and element allowing the idea of electricity to make sense especially in such a harsh area.

The reason is, "Too much noise for little gain." But, this makes no sense at all. You might aswell remove Gramophones and Pianos to as they make alot of noise for little gain.

Why removal of something like that anyways? This makes no sense.

Yeah that change just seemed so random. Don't recall anyone clamoring to remove generators. My guess is one of the devs got annoyed by it

Ill bet the statistics are saying players turn them off far more than turn them on.
Now consider that the lights are connected to the generator running.
And suppose they want the lights on for better atmosphere.

If that were the case...
You see the conflict?

Maybe its not the case. But it would not surprise me.

Normally i think you a shill, but we see eye to eye on this.
I think that was the reason, with them hyping up the engine update and this game effectively doubling as an advert for their engine(trying to get into the market of selling it to 3rd parties), having the dynamic lights always be off must sting.

I see no conflict. If you want better atmosphere or light then you must suffer with the noise. On top of this using the generator to make noise to mask your movement is a fair play aswell with gramophones or pianos, what makes the difference?

Than explain why rain maps.

Because most people simply want the generator turned off at all times. That constant noise is simply annoying. Which means that all lights are always turned off.

rain is not permanent noise. with they just made gens to work for a min then shutoff but light remains for 4 mins after shutting off or smth

They can just make em quiet. On/Off switch for lights is useful and nice.

Dun wanna be forced to always bring silenced guns to pop dem bulbs. Besides, after they are destroyed, they cant be turned on again.

With light switch you can wait for enemies to come closer, and then turn the lights on. Makes it fun.

it isnt random noise. it is noise controlled by players. noise that can be used for stealth gameplay and offensive gameplay aswell.
removing generators removes an affordance for players.

Generators are not permanent noise either. In fact the generators are better because you can turn them on and off so you can control the noise and thus use it to your benefit.

And that's why heavy rain is a thing, right

Remove the generators, make people shoot out the lights if they want it dark. Meaning, you want abuse that Black Coat or Headsman skin, you have to make noise with your guns in your specific direction.
Chinek Dec 10, 2023 @ 5:13am
I bet its because its too loud and if you abused lightfoots silent hoping you almost cant be tracked by sound. Lightfoot gets rework too so rainy maps will be much more pleasant to play without exploiting sounds.
