How to play skarsnik
So I love skarsnik. I love night goblins. They are my favorite thing in the whole lore. However using all goblins in the early game is rough. Anyone have any tips other than cheesing with wolf archers. I found that you can just spam them and nothing can catch them while you whittle the enemy away, but that’s boring

Night gobboes and play like skaven. Normal gobboes + shamans and use the gobboes to make your enemies stay still and get hit by spells. Arachnarock spam. Wolf archer spam. The extreme reduction for goblin costs in general makes it easy to do pretty much anything.

Its sort of tough for a little bit, but goblins have a lot of good stuff going for them. The leaders can get an easy red skill set to boost almost all of them at once as well as few one off skills that help as well. They also can have the trait "Mushroom-Addicted" which reduces upkeep costs. Make lots of goblins and have them travel around in groups of at least 2 full armies. Either 2 normal armies or 1 normal army and 1 waaagh army. Always try to outnumber the enemy, especially when fighting dwarves or elves.

Also make use of heroes which level stupidly fast for Skarsnik and also have reduced costs for their actions. I currently have one walking around that has a 50% or better chance to assassinate for only about 50-70 gold per attempt, its pretty crazy.

Once Skarsnik hits level 10 you also get access to a lot of regiments of renown at once, so make good use of those.

Oh whats that, Skarsnik needs access to orc's? To the Batmobile Robin...

Skarsnik does not need access to orcs. His objective remains fine. His campaign is set to the difficulty it is for a reason but it is more than manageable. Anyone who learns how to play with goblin armies properly can do what is needed. They have all the tools required.

Work on the red line and buff up your gobbos, focus on using Nasty Skulkers for ap and use the little waagh at the right times to turn your army into a blender. Do not underestimate how much damage Nasty Skulkers can put out.

Getting trolls when possible early on is also a great help to your army. You just need to get used to using buffs to have your line hold while using Nasty Skulkers and Trolls to cycle charge and move about the field ripping everything apart.

Always good to have some wolf riders though for dealing with arty.

Having a second cheaper army also helps though making multiple well rounded goblin armies also works. You also have a few different choices you can make. You can secure your province, build up two decent armies then bum rush karak eight peaks. You can also hit the orc settlement in the bretonnian land to use that as a capitol and build.

You can also work on heavily the relations with the wood elves. Durthu is the easiest. Get him on your side and the others will fall in. Then you can start having a blast because they don't care much about you wiping out dwarves or fellow greenskins.

Skarsnik's campaign requires a lot of micro management and is widely regarded as the hardest vanilla(aka unmodded) campaign in the game. It takes a good bit to get used to it.

remember you have mega upkeep reduction for goblins, along with skarsnik's auto lighting strike so never fight a battle on their odds ^^
(also sneaky skulkers are 10/10 boys for stabbing dwarf butt)

also yeah, yellow skills (right at the top should have some that boost goblins) alongside the redline goblin buffs will carry you far

I always ditch the starting area after (sometimes) getting more troops. I basically bum rush eight peaks. If you do it soon enough and are decent in battles you can take it pretty early.

Keep people in cages all day and only take them out for story time.

Last night I learned the power of a few good fanatic hits and squighoppers. The fanatics, when they land well, blow holes through whatever they hit. I really wish goblin shamans could get a mount though. I really need to give sneaky skulkers more of a shot

Skarnicks own buffs + red line for goblins = strong. Hire goblin commanders only for upkeep decreases
