Best human lord for black powder heavy?

Really love black powder weapons and just at a quick look gelt looks to be the best as he gives +10 armor to all units where as no other lord gives any bonuses, again at quick glance.
Also anyone have a good formation, I plan on having the free company militia be my front line so not sure if it would be best to just keep them as a long line, a box, or a encirclement.

I like a checkered setup for range/ gunpowder heavy armies

Gelt gives bonuses to black powder units (for his army only) through his yellow line upgrades. You don't need to start as him to get these perks, though you will need to confederate him if you start as someone else.

In fact it is Karl Franz, because he can put Gelt into position of Vissenland kurfurst with its 20% dmg for artillery units, that Gelt himself is unable to do.
Or Volkmar, but he's sucks

Thats, but key is that you get Gelt as soon as possible, before the Ai trash him with idiotic skill choice.

Problem solved.

Why CA haven't made this a standard feature in an update yet I have no idea, but at least modders can fix the problems that CA can't I guess.
