Roman Empire
Which faction is most like the Roman Empire? My vote is Dawi, specifically Angrund.

Empire is Empire.

This is more of the medieval period than the iron age. I don't think you can draw a comparison to any of the total war factions.

Skaven. Now bear with me:
- Council of 13 analogues to senate (no Emperor I'll grant you)
- maintain supremacy by superior technology
- Lots of murder and intrigue
- no loyalty
- Slavers
- obsession with sewerage
My money is on the Tomb Kings being the most like the Roman Empire. They fight the same way and even build their armies the same way with a nearly limitless supply of basic frontline soldiers and a few, better quality auxiliaries mixed in.

Iron age? The Roman empire formed more than 300 years after the end of the iron age.

Iron age? The Roman empire formed more than 300 years after the end of the iron age.

It's known as the "Late Iron Age" in many parts of the world.

I'd call it late antiquity but sure.

Medieval Germany and the Roman Empire aren't the same.

I don't have an in depth analysis to offer, but playing the Dawi gives me a very Roman feel.

A slow, deliberate grind both tactically and strategically.

Patriarchal to a fault

Merciless once the decision to go to war is made

Longing for a lost golden age

I suppose the main difference is in the beards.
