How do i copy and "paste" a formation?
I mean like move the exact same formation with a lot of units at another position?

If you want to rotate them, do the same thing but then hold down left Control after. It's a bit fiddly but you get used to it.

I know your question got answered already but theres another way to move a formation in a fixed manner. Assign your FULL Formation that you set beforehand to one Hotkey (you can rebind when theyre moving or sth.). After that a lock appears next to the Number of the Hotkey in your Units bar. You click it, formation is locked, click again and it gets removed.

Hope this could also help you, its less annoying to me at least.
Have fun

Thank you as well!
Zerkovich (I think that's right) on YouTube has some further info on the above answers... minutae of the way they both work... or at least, it's where I learned!

Set your guys in formation,
Press g for group,
Press the lock symbol in the UI.

They will now move in sync as long as you select them all
