Tomb Kings maintaining Armies with no income?
heyho, im currently wondering how it is possible for the tomb kings to maintain 3 doom stacks with just one city remaining... i destroyed all their cities to starve them out, but sadly they dont seem to give a f**k. need help, im stalking them with 4 doomstacks of my own, but within the borders of their city and no cavalry with the dwarves im pretty much screwed....

do the tomb kings get negative balance or something at any time or do i just have to waste my time to finish them off. thx 4 suggestions

First the AI is kinda cheating. They have more income and the price of upkeeps and buildings is almost none.
Second the TombKings doesn't have upkeep for theyr armies. Every unit and upkeep is 0 but they gotta have buildings to afford " slots " for theyr special units.

Because of fundamental tomb king mechanics.

Tell me, what do you imagine you need to pay a skeleton warrior?
1) Tomb kings do not pay upkeep
2) Tomb kings do not have recruitment costs

3) Tomb Kings instead have an army cap and a unit cap.

Usually, for the most part, the AI fills four stacks with skeletrash. Wipe them out.

But you are paying for you skellies as the vampire. Okay it is not money you pay them with, but still you pay your upkeep.

Different mechanic. They need to be Mastermind, who keeps focussing on them not dying.
Tomb Kings are being infused with the souls of their dead and remain semi-sentient.

It's not money, and it's not for them, it's for the necro or the vamp maintaining them.

Tomb Kings aren't maintained by that magic. They just walk around.

Lore wise Tomb king units retain some of there personality and will that made them who they was when they was alive

where as the VC dont really want free will with there units so they forcably raise the dead some have more complex magic behind it i.e. grave guard but overall the undead for VC are forced and subjucated both physically and mentally

Tomb king units willingly serve there masters hence the unit cap over an upkeep

No idea, but I'd imagine that it'd be barebones.

so how can they maintain 3 stacks of units with just one city... how is that possible if they need buidlings to raise their cap...

nonetheless thx for all the replies, without owning the dlc it is quite dumb not beeing able to at least test the new races to get a hang of their mechanics. having the khemri codex at home doesnt help me with this one im afraid ;)

cheers mates

They have units, that don't need caps...

Skellie warriors and spearmen have no cap. Everything else in their roster does, which is determined by the tier and amount of military buildings they possess. They unlock additional army capacity with techs.

Low tier skeleton warriors are really low tier units. Even thought they look deadly in mass of 3 stacks. As long as they dont have any high tier units. You can easilly crush them. If they morale Breaks what happens easilly they just die like VC units.
