Why can I not deny myself reinforcements if needed?
Now if it has been changed already, correct me please, but last I checked it was still impossible to NOT reinforce for example your settlement in case it got attacked and you had an army next to it (not inside it however). It would make sense to be given the option to not reinforce and just have the army stay where it is, or even retreat further, instead of dooming it to get wiped alongside the settlement garrison in case it suddenly comes under siege by multiple armies, or even just a really strong one.

There's a mod where you can gift your settlements to the AI. >:)

I mean... that is something? But not really what I want, or what common sense would dictate should be in the game in order to avoid getting drawn into a losing battle. Whilst I am ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and since you reminded me, I should also mention you should be able to get settlements for money/peace/treaty/other settlements, like you could for example in Medieval II. So stupid to have AI hold on to the one settlement you need to complete the province, and you may even have one of the ones they need, too.

Personally I have good hope settlement trading will return in Warhammer 3 considering it also made a return in Three Kingdoms. But as far as I know you still can't stop reinforcements from helping. It would be nice to have although I would never use it in the situation you describe.

There's also a mod that adds more units to the Beastmen. >:)

Why will Sigmar sit? Is he tired?
I know it's not really what you want, but I guess you could load into the battle and manually withdraw your units from the fight... bit of a faff though...

I'd never really thought about it before, but it WOULD be good to have the option to not commit the troops to the defence of the city.

I just make the army retreat when they get summoned in if I want to or plan to lose the settlement.

Yeah, that is an option, but afaik, they have nerfed retreating some while ago and now no matter your actual in-game losses, you will lose a huge portion of your army whenever you retreat from battle. So you cannot for example take an artillery-heavy skaven army, attack two Brettonian doomstacks, bomb the ♥♥♥♥ out of them, and retreat with everything unharmed just before they close in on you, and then finish them off much weaker in the next battle. I learned the hard way :/

Ikr? Also, I didn´t really have this issue where I was stuck in a save purgatory, I was meaning to go to the edge of the settlement and protect it, but in case it got attacked by 2 doomstacks, I would withdraw. Since I assumed I would not be able to do that, I drew one army away from the settlement, and let it get besieged by the other, then wiped both out the next turn.
