1070 Performance [Solved]
Hi

I was just wondering about performance. I have a GTX 1070 and get about 30-45fps at 1080p (on Dx11). I think this is low for such a card?
I have a performance monitor and it says 99% on GPU and about 60% CPU.

Looking at requirements on TotalWar site:

PC 60fps+ Specifications: 1070 GTX
Expected 60 FPS+ on campaign map and in a 1v1, 20 units vs 20 units battle, default graphics preset set to “Ultra”, running at 1920×1080

Any ideas?

I've gotten about a 5fps increase from using DX12.

You're right; I have AMD.

does the performance monitor tell you what the heat is when you are playing?

Yea that's pretty bad for a 1070. You aren't using crazy aa are you? Only use fxa. Turn SSAO off too. Maybe tweek some settings and compromise quality for better perfomance. Download msi afterburner or something to check temps. Keep ur fingers crossed CA release some patched asap. Goodluck.

I had default Ultra settings as it was recommended. So FXAA and SSAO on. (I've lower to high to shadows.)
As for temp i think it sits at about 58C.

I could turn the settings down, but why does dev big up this card for 60+fps :(
Maybe waiting on nvidia drivers, i have yet to see a warhammer driver. like they release with most big games.

On an off note. And feel free to ignore if its bit in depth topic:
How do you OC GPU. i have software that came with the card with a slider bar, but it just becomes unstable and crashes if you touch it lol. Seem bit odd to have an option so easily adjustable to Ave Joe (prominent on the home screen) if it takes a bit of advance knowledge to make it work.

FXAA, DX11, DoF off, SSR off, Shadows on high and unlimited video memory on are the basic FPS boosters.

I use these with a mixture of high and ultra settings on everything else and get stable FPS.

Well, I have gtx 1070 too, and getting some perfomance problems. Battles run somewhat ok (yet still worse than game 1), but campaign map is stutter fest.

When you say 35-40fps, is this during the deployment phase or during a massive fight? What was your performance like in Total War Warhammer 1?

For overclocking a gpu I use MSI afterburner and valley benchmark, there are some good videos on youtube. It's intimidating at first but it's really easy.
i have a gtx 1070 G1, everything option turned on everything on ultra running between 50-60 fps even on massive battles. so far havent experienced any problem. even while streaming with maxed settings i experienced no problems.

got a 1070 GTI and 16 ram + CPU I7 -6700K and i have to say i run with 60 FPs on map campaign SSAO off vignette Off shadows ultra unit size high relfection on & deep field off the game is for me very enjoyable and smooth during battle and on map campaign. For the sharp and colors i use some preset with Reshade and its looks very very good / in one word im a happy player at this moment just waiting for patches and mods we can expect more from the game i'm sure.

do you have an i7? i wonder how much of a performance increase an i7 would give vs an i5
