Magic ARE Supposed to be Overpowered.
I dont know.
Alot of people are complaining the magic are too POWERFUL compared to Game 1.

But they're fighting near the Vortex
All that Chaos Energy and Winds of Magic gathering to that area
Its no suprise a Fireball can be 10x more larger and more devastating.

Lorewise; fighting closer to the Vortex is just more magically potent.

Scary as hell.

I mean im still upset CA wont add the special skill for Balthasar Gelt where he could turn a platoon of enemy into solid gold or something.
to essentially kill 1 stack

:( while overpowered.. it would be nice; considering it should be a 1 battle 1 use move on units that arent generals.

TBH with the new found army abilities i would imagine when both games get combines into the "mega campaign" we might see army abilities for all the TW1 Races i.e. Orks get a WAAAAGH instead of having to unlock it through the skill tree or something like that perhaps? imean Britonia already have it somewhat in the form of the Green knight and Kemmlar has it now with Krell so why not!

Also im glad they sorted the magic i mean look at the lore wizards mages shamens crazys have the power to literally make someones head explode so why should it not be powerful you telling me a giant pillar of flame going through an army should not kill lots of people?

only Dwarfs should have resistance
since they're so stubborn they dont believe in Magic that most of the time it doesnt hurt them
and even if it do actually effect them; its because the magic was too strong and/or the caster is really powerful.

I would rather have OP spells than worthlessly weak ones like we had at some points through game 1.

But I only play single player. I get things have to be more balanced in MP.

The spell only killed on a 5+, so far from killing a unit with 1 spell.

I mean we could talk all day about how Purple Sun of Xerus friggin' sucks in this game meanwhile it's a great spell on TT vs anything low initiative

Pretty sure the innate magic resistance of the Dwarfs is because of how the Old Ones created them, not because they don't believe in it.

Fingers crossed it gets a huge boost in mortal empires.

And Comet of Cassandora too.

It was basically a nuke on tabletop.

I'm finding the opposite really. I'd agree with you if this was game 1 but here it seems the majority of spells can get good use and only a few are useless now.
I find magic to be in a good place in general right now, casters are powerful but quite squishy for a hero unit and while they are powerful, it is limited.. so yeah I am quite happy with it as it is.
Are people seriously complaining about magic being OP? We spent the entire lifespan of warhammer 1 complainning about any kind of dmg magic being worthless and now that it is actually worth something there's complaining? It's not even too good a spell that half healths spearmen won't make a dent in something with magic restist. I'm going to be so sad if magic ends up getting nerfed it feels so good to see magic in a playable place.

...that is in the game, it just doesn't have the animation. It's the Final Transmutation spell Gelt and any other Lore of Metal caster can take.
