Are you flash guarding for the damage bonus as well? So far I've been able to burn every boss down pretty quickly by spamming Aisha/Sigroons Aqua burst with the crimson jewel equipped. It's the highest burst in the game I've seen so far with such a low SP cost.

did you kill the secret bosses?

I advise grinding at the last area against those cerberes dogs
they gives massive EXP point really fast (I even managed to lv99 all of my party members in the steam ver)
and try getting your hand on the dragons equipments.

Eh no, you're suppose to be like 58-60. I personally was 61 too on Nightmare and killed this boss on my second try (my first try was with lvl 58, then I grinded because of the 'max one persons skills' achievement).

If you have problems with the first phase, try to play more defensively (even though the fight might take longer then), but when he is below 25% where all his arms are spamming the attacks, go all out. It's best to just 'skip' this phase by using an Extra skill at like 30%.

Also I'm sure you did but I'll just say it anyway: Stock up on healing items and buy everyone the best weapon+armor, that helps a lot. And think about the accessories (for each group of 3, have one person with an offensive accessory, one with a defensive one and one with an SP/EP recharging one. I think that's ideal).

You sure we are talking about the same game and/or your memory doesn't play tricks on you? Lv 73 would be hours and hours of grinding, even from 62-63 takes an eternity.

i regret this thread. the last boss is not unreasonable, i was just a stupid.

today i grinded out a few ultimate weapons, calmed down and used flash guard (after realizing all of your attacks crit after a flash guard for a few sec) and learned some big skills (Dogis grand slam, cruxie dragon blaze, adol pentagram) and absolutely ♥♥♥♥ all over him. wasn't "easy", but felt very damn good and fun.

Yeah, on my first playthrough I got the best weapons for Adol, Dogi and Aisha, and pretty much spammed their most powerful moves with the SP halve accessories on. It still provides a challenge for sure, but definitely doable.

I know this thread is old, but i have to quote on this one!

This is how i play the game aswell and i am a little curious on why i dont see more people recommend this strategie.
Aqua burst is such an incredible skill.
As you mentioned, it has high burst, but it also greatly benefits from the range of the bow, has a very fast animation, especially when compared to other skills that cost equal amounts of SP, the second part of it has the homing effect, means it can even hit when the first part is somewhat blocked and is stupidly cheap SP cost, especially with crimson jewel and someone else having energy orb.

By far the best skill in the game!

Level 70? Good lord guys, I ground out the 300-odd Soul Stones for all the weapons for the achievement, and I was still only 63.

also i remember trying to get the stupid rare materials/drops by farming & killing the stupid monsters in that last area to create the best equipments for my party, it didn't take me long to reach lv71 on my main 3 party members wail the rest is at lv67.

The only problem with Ys Seven Final Boss is that you HAVE to play with every single character. A thing so many people complained about that on the Next two installements with the same and improved system, they removed this forced thing. For old players like me, sometimes you want to play only as Adol.

it was completely fair,
the unused party members tend to level up in the background sooo all you had to do is gear them up,
i used dogi the heavy attack main user in the first pase[since he's the strongest on my team and can manage to solo him easily],
Aisha 2nd pase and she's probebly the 3rd usable ranged attacker and she's fast[also solo'd the 2nd pase with little to no issue],

adol solo 3rd pase is self explanetory......you can pretty much flash guard everything he throws at you......he was a joke on nightmare.

Even on normal I find it exhausting. Had to spend all extra potions and even then managed to deplete final boss half energy bar. 4 boss battles in a row is too much. You begin making mistakes after a while due to exhaustion. Level 60 for all characters, 61 for Adol.
If I grind to level 70 there will not be any challenge. Wasted 1 hour grinding and 2 hours on boss battle. 2-3 straight boss battles would be acceptable.
I think I am done with this game. Will watch a Youtube video of the ending.

lvl 60/61 is enough for that fight, have you crafted dragon stones's weapons and leveled good skills on your main char of each team ?
