The joyoland game is free to download (legally) on their website but you can't lauch it (DRM with code). People on the discord don't seem too motivated to undub this because its only a matter of copy pasting anyway.
I guess I'll just mute the "voices"
But OP just should have informed better. The release history of XSEED is, they always included just english voices for the PC-Versions. The Master source was always the PC-Version for the Falcom titles, they don't have dubs at all. XSEED included a few sounds from the dubbed PSP version to the PC-Version of Ys and Trails, but also, nothing too important here. I'm not the biggest fan of english dubs for japanese games, but the problem here is not worth the hassle.
You have the cutest way of trying to claim I think things I absolutely don’t think which also show you’ve never actually read any of my posts.
I'm so happy XSEED has been including Japanese in their two most recent Falcom releases. It made me buy this at launch even though I won't be playing it until at least after VIII.
I wish they'd go back and update their older games with the Japanese scripts...
The text though is likely an easy one.
Its like Seraphna says, its the voice contract that is stopping Xseed. They do not have the licensing to support it.
\Ys SEVEN\se y7se_0800.wav - y7se_0994.wav
The file structure is the same in the JP PSP directory. I had to convert the files to .wav cause in PSP they are .vag (a Sony proprietary sound file), and in the PSP the files are named slightly different (EX se y7se_800.vag - y7se_994.vag) so i had to add the "0" in all 186 files to match the XSEED version after i converted them.
I think the annoying part was the rename as I had to google an easy way to do that. Fortunately, Windows Powershell was a tool that I didn't even know we had that made it easy to do if you followed a simple replace command.
Tested it and it seems to work fine -- easier than I thought it'd be.
I would believe it has a cost, not that it is impossibile. I was wondering what that cost may be, even if that cost was to be covered by customers (as a dlc). I believe that the owner of the license for the japanese dub wouldn't hate to make some money, it's probably the amont requested that was not feasible.
