whcih team in blood bowl is your favorite and why?

from the ones that ive tried so far, i've gotta say i love the skeevers rats. not only do they have the fastest runners in the game, their throwers are great too, making them the best at running back touchdowns.
also, they've one of the few teams that actually have mutations, lol. i love making the rats look weird as hell, having 2 heads and 2 arms on my gutterrunner.


another team i like are the goblins. they're so difficult to play. in every match, i get at least 5 injuries and at least 4 ejected players, but the fact that u can use a chainsaw to cut up opponents just makes it all the more worhtwhile. lol.

which teams are your favorite and why?

I like to bash as orcs. Wear the other other team down. Starting 11 on 11 and ending 11 on 4 is pretty satisfying. You can score sometimes in the oddest of ways too. Love bashing a team down and then getting a blitzer isolated on the outside. If the guy who was shadowing him can't get up that turn that leaves him alone on the edge. Clear a path for the thrower/ballcarrier and hand it off to that blitzer. With his MA of 6 he can be really hard to catch in the open, doubly hard when everyone who could make a play has to dodge tackle zones.

Those don't happen often, generally you score just by wearing the other team down and bashing everyone. Orcs are well positioned to either grind out a victory, take advantage of your mistakes/misfortune with punishing quick scores, or pull out a hail mary score to leave you stunned.

On defense good access to tackle means that as a bash heavy team they can counter dodge heavy teams fairly well.

I like Chaos because of the mutations, some of those mutations are really good for causing injuries like Claw IIRC. Well, I guess in all honesty I just like beating the crap out of the other team :P.

Bash is fun. Last game I just played in my campaign I inflicted 7 casualties and 3 deaths. ORC SMASH.

Ogres, I love them because you can beat the opponents down while you give the small goblins(can't remember the names), dodging skills and movement skills to sprint away with the ball.

Dwarfs....because small little guys can kill big ass troll and they just need half a barrel of beer to revive them....also because they have no weaknesses *-* Hail the Beer Gods!!

I normally play Skaven, both on the PC game and the board game. Why? Speed baby. You can dance around most teams like they hav concrete feet, and if you can keep your gutter runners alive long enough to reach rank 3 they can be amazing. A fragile team sometimes, but sooo very easy to play.

Failing that, Norse are well worth a try. Why? They can take and dish out a lot of damage, making leveling your star players fairly quick and easy, as their life spands are a touch longer than many. A great team to deal with those pesky lizardmen and others, and I often find that they are perfetly capable of the passing game as well as the standard smash and drive technique. This team is probably better suited to newer players, as they are more forgiving of error than Skaven.

I'm playing undead. Ran Undead in person when my area still did bloodbowl regularly. Initially they kinda suck due to low agility on many players. Passing game is crap at first, and it can be hard to win the first few games. But the idea of skeletons, zombies, and the like playing football just tickles my funnybone.

Undead are actually great from the get go. They never really excel at passing though, they are better at the running game. Protect your Ghouls and bash your way down to the endzone.

Actually, my wights have been my main ball carriers in most games so far. The ghouls are decent at it, by for some reason my wights can pick up the ball more reliably. And complete (usually short) passes simi-reliably.

And then there's the odd match where you have to bring your non-existent passing game cause the other team does the whole "big bruiser" routine better then you.

Sure, some pass play might work, but it should only be attempted if nothing else works.

Wights can make decent ball carriers as well, true. I found I need them for other stuff though, as they can reliably get Strength skills like Guard and Mighty Blow, which Ghouls need a double for. Also, Ghouls are a bit faster.

But in the end: If it works for you, go for it :)

Since my starting lineup has 2 ghouls and 2 wights, my initial plan was to try building the wights as throwers/running backs and the ghouls as recievers/blitzers. Kind of regretting going with both skeletons and zombies. Although I'm reluctent to replace a couple of the skeletons since they picked up block and tackle.

Played it already on the PsP and mainly used dwarfs there;

They arent that strong and pretty slow, though they start off with block - i killed off so many goblins that i wasnt able to count em;

Though i also like the Orcs - are a bit stronger and faster.
