Black Screen
AC Origins recieved an "update" recently. Upon installing that "update" when i turn on the game it’s entirely black, before the update the game worked perfectly fine. For some reason the game still runs, judging by the audio and controller rumbling. But the screen is entirely black

Hey Creeper of Doom

Sorry to hear it.
There have been posts of an update to all Ubisoft games for Steam users recently, that turned out to be an update to the Ubisoft Connect client itself. The update was about 270MB. Just making sure this is the one you are referring to.

As for the issue, try clearing contents from cache folders for both Steam and UC.

To empty the Ubisoft Connect PC cache:

• Log out and close Ubisoft Connect PC.
Making sure it is not open in the background.
• Go to the Ubisoft Connect PC installation location.
By default, you can find the installation folder following this access path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher
• Right-click on the "cache" folder and rename it to something else, such as "cache_backup".
• Restart Ubisoft Connect PC.

For Steam, it's done in Settings > Downloads > Clear Cache

Let us know if it helped.

I tried both, i also tried reinstalling Assassin’s Creed Origins via Steam and it did not work, I reinstalled Ubisoft Connect as a safety measure, i ran a System Check, my drivers are up to date. I tried clearing the game Configuration in the Documents folder and that didn’t work, i also tried restoring an old backup of the game files and that didn’t fix it.

I stated the game is still running because i can use the Controller and it plays in-game audio fine

Thanks for this info, Creeper of Doom.

When you say "I tried clearing the game Configuration in the Documents folder" I assume you just completely deleted this file as it is not needed and the game will create a new one.

What about the DPI scaling in Windows? Is it set to 100% or a higher value? Sometimes apps/games do not launch correctly with scaling set to over 100%.

Can you check that?

I tried all available DPI Scaling Values on my system and Assassin’s Creed Origins still launches into a Black Screen, I also tried enabling DPI Scaling in the ACOrigins.exe file and yet again, Black Screen. No Graphics Cards or Hardware was changed in my system

Thanks, Creeper of Doom.

I'm afraid without looking into your diagnostic files, there is not much more I can suggest.
At this point, I would advise you to submit a support ticket and attach these files to it:
