Howls of the Dead quest bug? (Hidden Ones dlc)
Stuck in this quest and can't proceed. I bring the mummy to the necropolis, put it down, find the little tunnel but can't reach the room with the target due to some kind of invisible barrier? Tried resetting quest objective, desync-ing, exit to title screen, restart game, nothing helps and I can't complete the quest. Ideas?
Here's a video too. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1975302799

I haven't verified the game and since the game autosaves constantly I don't have a save to load up, but I did manage to get past the barrier by crouching and moving the camera to face Bayek. The invisible barrier kept acting like a wall and wouldn't move into the room, I kept messing around with it until the camera clipped into the room and suddenly Bayek was able to move forward.

I played the game as normal for a while and later realized I had started an animus hacked mode when trying to deal with the bug, so I went back to my normal save and was at the same bugged spot in this quest. I was still stuck, so I did the same thing again, crouched and messed with the camera facing Bayek until it clipped again and Bayek moved forward. When leaving the area I noticed that Bayek hops/jumps across that space where the barrier was, I did it a few times back and forth. Since the quest locks you into slow moving cutscene state as you approach the area and you can't run/climb/dodge/use weapons there, I assume some kind of invisible edge prevented Bayek to hop over it.

As of now both the saves are past this quest, so I have no way of testing anything anymore.

Hey Garbage!
Does this still happen after verifying the game in steam?[ubi.li]
If so, do you have a save from an earlier point that you could load up to see if it is still happening on that save?

I'm pleased to see you were able to get past this part.
I'll mention your workaround to the team, hopefully this will help other players if they face the same problem.

@Garbage
It's worked for me.

I tried to solve this bug by using the way mentioned above, but I still can't get in that room...

Hey Yanggeia, thanks for your post about this - sorry to read you are having this same issue.

Just to double-check, have you done our troubleshooting guide[www.ubisoft.com]? Particularly that verifying game files step that UbiGinge suggested above, but also make sure to update your graphics drivers and operating system.

If it still doesn't work, do you have means to record a short video for us, showing the issue? I can pass this along to be investigated further, alongside Garbage's report.

Since this post is from quite some time ago, it'll be difficult to know exactly what Garbage did to fix it, but have you been able to try wiggling your camera around until it clips through?

Thanks again for this report - we really appreciate it!

Tried the mentioned fix in game by rotating the camera while crouched and it works. After some observation i think it is the bamboo/tied wooden frame flooring that requires Bayek to hop plus the cut scene that causes the issue, i might be wrong. after you finish if you walk over the frame he does little hops all over the floor just where the invisible wall is.

Hi. I tried Verifying the game, crouching/camera workaround, but can't get into the room. Any chance to fix this, please? Or any other workaround?

Hey there vessago, sorry to hear that and thanks for confirming. Could you please create a {LINK REMOVED} for me through our Support Website? When doing this, could you please also attach a video showing that you cannot crouch past? We will then be able to look into this further.

Support link is broken or something, could not sent a ticket, only option available was chat and add description and file, which I did, but no button to actually send it or I'm blind.

Old thread, but this is STILL happening (as well as freeze crashing from time to time, even though my hardware is more than capable) so I don't buy for one second that these "devs" have done anything to attempt an actual fix.

I'm having exactly same problem. Any solution?
edit: You need to take your torch out, at least that worked for me

Crouching /Edit: and remaining crouched till the cutscene plays) into the forced slowmode area worked for me - didn't have glitch out the game with the camera.

Aside from this glitch, I've had the game freeze and crash on me at least 20 times during my playthrough, and yes, I've reinstalled the game (on my OS drive which is a 1 TB WD Black SN850 M.2 drive), verified the files, updated everything there is to update, turned off antialiassing completely and it still happens from time to time.
Everything's on Ultra besides the AA thing - borderless windowed mode.

Full specs
Mobo - ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming, BIOS vers. 2803
CPU – AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @ stock speeds
RAM - 32 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3600 with XMP enabled
GPU – ASUS GeForce RTX 3060 Ti ROG STRIX self-OC'ed (has been stable in every other game I've played on it) driver no. 516.59
SSD - WD Black SN850 NVMe M.2 (1TB)
PSU – Corsair RM750x V2 (80+ Gold)
OS - Win 10 Pro

I love the game but these hickups are quite annoying.

Posting this for posterity.
