Assassins Creed Origins Offline?

Hi there, I wanted to buy AC Origins - but i am seeing mix results for this question; "can I run this game offline?". I just wanna buy this and be able to play this game without having to run some stupid other app in the background while I play. I am playing TitanFall 2 and having the EA Origin app running in the background is a waste of my CPU. There was also an internet outage in Canada last summer and could not run any of my game because of the need for another app to connect online to be able to use it. So again...

Your answer can be found right on the store page for Steam.

"Requires 3rd-Party Account: Ubisoft Account (Supports Linking to Steam Account)"

So you need to have Ubisoft Connect to be running and signed in to a Ubisoft account before you can launch the game. You can run it in offline mode but Ubisoft launcher will still be running.
