Are you on win 7? If yes, it is the launcher, the launcher doesnt work on win 7 anymore, but there is a workaround which still works.
Also the game is broken on win 7 as well so even if you can start the launcher, the game will freeze after a few minutes.

The game ran normally on my Win7 before that infamous update (tested it in november or december 2020 when the game still worked for everyone), but sadly my CPU barely kept 30fps so I waited to buy a new in order to play it. This summer I got a new one but the freezing started happening after maybe one minute or even less, once even during the loading. From what I read though there were other people with these same problems on Win10.

Anyway, which is this workaround you mentioned for Win7? Sadly I am getting a "The procedure entry point CreateDXGIFactory2 could not be located in the dynamic link library dxgi.dll" when I launch the game.

you need to get into the launcher directory and switch the name of following executables:

upc.exe -> upc.exe.new
upc.exe.old -> upc.exe

that should keep the launcher working for now.

how would you do this unless its as simple as copy n paste the text in the steam launch options?

Just press the Window button and search upc.exe, right click, open folder, rename those two and when you launch the game from the Steam shortcut it will select the old launcher. I did it and it worked. The game keeps freezing though, time to buy the PS4 version I guess.

These steps are pointless as you are on Windows 10 and will have no effect.

Can you please post your system specs?

Is steam, ubisoft connect, and game all installed on same drive?

Are you having issues with other games?

Have you simply tried to verify game files? Or uninstalled and re-installed?

Tried a clean boot?

Updated display driver? Preferably running DDU before doing so.

Windows 10 is on latest public build? No insider, preview, or optional updates.

Run an SFC Scan?

A quick google search of that code brings up this video. Which is similar to the others. Maybe worth a try.

Hello 36,

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you are unable to start your game.

Can you please try the troubleshooting steps {LINK REMOVED}? It will help to eliminate any potential software conflicts.

Many thanks and if you have any additional questions, please let us know.

ok so none of those worked, but going to the game directory and deleting every file then verifying now fixed it, seems just uninstalling and reinstalling can sometimes keep faulty files due to steam cloud saves, this isnt the first time this has happened, had a game i use to mod and somehow got a modded folder back after a reinstall
