Assassin's Creed Origins

AC Origins - BSOD before even getting through the menu
I've been having issues with playing AC Origins since first getting the game on October 27th, and have not once been able to play without my computer blue screening and dying. I assumed it was a common issue and that it would be patched, but... yeah, the game still won't run even now (May 2018). One time, it ran long enough that I made it partway through the pyramid?
So, the game just keeps crashing, and I can't figure out why. You know the opening screen where it asks you to press any key to continue? It's crashed there. It's crashed on the new game screen. It's crashed during the first fight. It's crashed when I tried to enter the pyramid (I assume it's a pyramid). And of course, by crash, I mean blue screen and die.
The BSOD messages vary wildly - IRQL not less or equal, Page fault in unpaged area, and more. Is this a computer issue? I built this computer over a year ago, and have never had problems before this game.
I'm running Windows 7 with an Intel Core i7-7700K. My graphics unit is the NVDIA GeForce GTX 1070. I'm not exactly terribly brilliant with the hardware side of computers - I thought I knew what I was doing well enough... Could anyone possibly help or recommend what I should do to get help? Now my father has the game as well and it's becoming really awkward to talk around, and I do really wish to play : (
Thank you,
AnnAisu

Oh, just found this: should let you see the results!

First, right click the start button and select ‘Event Viewer’ or type ‘eventvwr.msc’ into the run dialog box and press enter if you are using Windows 7.

Locate the ‘Windows Logs’ on the right side and open it. You will see an endless list of events. Click ‘Find’ on the right pane.

On the box that pops up, type ‘MemoryDiagnostic’, then click ‘Find Next’. The test results will open at the bottom of that same Window.
Made it into Siwa, used my new bow to stop the soldiers from burning down my friends house... and bluescreened.

Searching through all of the Windows logs, it's not showing up? But it is saying that an event notification handler failed.
"The winlogon notification subscriber <SessionEnv> was unavailable to handle a notification event."

Dang, back to that one..

See if there is a dump file in the root of your C: drive. [just open C in file explorer] It should be called 'memory.dmp'

If not.. select Start, Control Panel, System, Advanced System Settings, Advanced, StartUp and Recovery, Settings, System Failure, Write debugging information, scroll for options. Don't forget the Apply button.

Then there should be a dump file to look at the next time it blue screens. Upload it somewhere and send a link, if it won't fit in a comment.

There;s the minidump - the Memory.dmp is 2 months old and won't copy onto google drive for whatever reason. I'm not thinking terribly straight, so I'm heading on to bed again.
Once more, thank you so much!!!
Changed the settings so it'll update the kernel dump ^^MEMORY.dmp the next time it fails.

Sounds good, I'll be heading to bed soon too.

From a quick look over, seems that crash was caused by raspptp.sys driver.. not quite sure what to do with that at the moment..

>found this: It's a peer-to-peer Tunneling Protocol

"The original raspptp.sys is an important part of Windows and rarely causes problems. Raspptp.sys is located in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder. Known file sizes on Windows 10/8/7/XP are 48,384 bytes (85% of all occurrences), 72,192 bytes, 73,728 bytes or 74,752 bytes. "

Kinda weird, mine is actually 97,280 bytes... but i suppose this website is probably out of date with the new win10 updates.

Be sure to upload a new dump!

EDIT: I found the driver in Device Manager! It's under Network adapters, then WAN miniport (PPTP). If you don't see it, click on View and select show hidden devices. Right click and choose properties, then see if you can update the driver. Seems you can also turn off the driver, but that would likely prevent you from connecting to the internet.

I'm not really sure why this would be causing a bsod in game tho.

@AJax thank you for helping, I'm glad to see we're making progress!

@AnnAisu, Can you please create a case on the {HIVATKOZÁS TÖRÖLVE} and {HIVATKOZÁS TÖRÖLVE} files for further investigation? In the meantime, if you are able to upload a new dump for Ajax to take a look at, we may be able find out more information on the cause of the crash.

Thank you so much again, AJax and UbiRedbeard! I have no idea how you managed to pick out that raspptp.sys was causing problems... but I'm running through a few different suggestions offered by google, and this one looks promising - I'm cleaning up my registry using JetClean, and it's found a bunch of empty registries... maybe that's it and this will help? If it doesn't work, I'll gladly open up a case, but I don't want to make more of a fuss if this ends up working. I'll keep you updated.
I also updated all my drivers, double checked.
It was easy, acutally. :) I just used 'BlueScreen Viewer' It reads the bsod .dmp logs and tells you what caused it! easy peasy.

I hope this works, but if it doesn't feel free to let us know! As well as open a case, they could probably use the data to help others if they have a similar issue.

off topic EDIT: Now I'm actually thinking of going to my local computer repair lady and asking her if I could part time with her. She helped me with the computer I got from a friend that wouldn't boot. He said I could give him $200 and keep it, if I got it working. She helped me find the ONE cord that was plugged into the wrong place, lol! Got a real good deal thanks to her.
I like helping people fix computers. I've been partially doing this ever since my dad was using autoCAD and DOS in the early 90's, It feels great when you get a broken computer back to a stable condition.

It didn't work. I am opening the case right now, with the info attached. ^^;;; http://support.ubi.com/en-US/Cases/06236955
Google drive still refuses to accept Memory.dmp
That would be really cool!!!! I'm too afraid of breaking things to easily help others... but I think you should go for it!!!!
I suppose https://www.megaupload.us/ would take it. Thats usually pretty reliable. I'm still interested in taking a look at that mem.dmp!

But i'm gettin to bed, so i'll take a look later.

Looking into the system files you have provided on your support case, I'm noticing a trend with crashing for "ZeroConfigService.exe" and "Kernelbase.dll"

A quick search of this brought me to this thread: {HIVATKOZÁS TÖRÖLVE}

As AJax suggested earlier, this is a network adapter. Can you please disable it to see if this helps?

If it does help, please ensure it's fully updated as this is likely the cause of the issue!

I hope this helps.

Finally got the kernel dump to work - here it is on dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/s/53khuvp1eeqszk2/MEMORY.DMP?dl=0
Hmm.. This one doesn't show the same error code, nor tells me about a driver. It still could be ram, but with what Ubi- said.. I think it might be some firewall issue or network adapter. This is talked about in the link I put below.

EDIT: the answer here describes it quite well, would be worth a read. It should be the same for win7 : https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-system/blue-screen-0x00000050-pagefaultinnonpagedarea/7bec0307-d1a9-4d10-be06-a06c45d1a6b2 This guy put up a bunch of good information and links.

I'd say read this first^^^

This is a basic sum up:

Error 0x50: Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

This error means that something may be wrong with hardware connected to your PC. You may need to unplug the broken hardware. Here are some things to try:

--Unplug any hardware from your PC and restart. Plug the hardware in again. Your PC check should check for new drivers. [not sure what to unplug tho.. probably the network adapter, if you have one that can be unpluged. If not, disable it in Device Manager then check for updates?]

--Make sure that your antivirus app is current and use it to scan your PC. [There may be a rootkit hidden, and for some reason AC:O doesn't play well with it. I'd suggest trying Malwarebytes, as it found some stuff that windows defender didn't. Make sure you turn on 'scan for rootkits' in settings.]

--In the search box next to the Start button on the taskbar, type disk cleanup and then select the Disk Cleanup app in the results list. Use this app to clear out your junk folders. Next, type updates in the search box and choose the Check for updates app under system settings. In the app, select the Check for updates button. [this one might really help, if you've not used disk cleanup in a while.]

--If you are still seeing the error, you may need to test for faulty RAM or hardware by running a memory test. In the search box next to the Start button on the taskbar, type memory. Select the Windows Memory Diagnostic desktop app and select Restart now and check for problems. [we already did this one, but might be worth trying again]

Haven't had a chance to try this yet. I'll update when I do, might be another day or two >_< This is so stressful...
No problem, @AnnAisu just be sure to update the thread when you have tried what @Ajax suggested!
