Information about HDR Support
Hello AC:O PC Community!

The holidays are upon us, and we hear some of you might be getting new displays which support HDR… So the Assassin’s Creed Origins team has been working closely with our AMD and NVIDIA partners to enable HDR on the PC version. So, while we are still working with our compatibility labs to ensure broad support on HDR10 compliant displays, we wanted to make this Beta version of the feature available to you before the year ended.

PC HDR Support Notes
----------------------------------
General notes

- HDR support on PC is highly dependent on the drivers and windows versions, see below for a list of tested configuration.
- Enabling HDR will force the game in full screen mode. Please note that HDR is not supported in windowed mode.
- Make sure that the HDR display you are running the game on is set as your primary display, even when you are running multi-monitor set up.

PC HDR Requirements

- 3D Card with HDR support (Nvidia 9xx and 10xx cards, AMD RX4xx, RX5xx, and RX Vega cards)
- Display with full HDR support
- HDMI 2.x cable

SETUP

  • Connect your PC using HDMI 2.x cable to an HDR Display and set it as your primary display.
  • Display input must be configured for HDR Display (i.e Enable UHD Color, Game picture mode). This can be done in the options for the display itself.
  • Enable HDR through the AC:O graphics options. The option will be grayed out if no HDR display is detected. If that’s the case, verify your Display setup, Cable, Drivers and Windows version.
  • Set the HDR Settings through the game’s graphics options according to your display capabilities.

I have tried all workarounds to make this game work with HDR and it just doesn't work on my end! I have tried starting it at 1080p, changing to 4K and enabling HDR . I have tried starting it on 4K with hdr already ON. I have tried 1440p and nothing seems to work correctly. My TV says it is receiving an HDR signal but Everything looks overblown and not right. Adjusting the HDR settings also doesn't do much. And changing between resolutions on this game it messes up every time! And yes I have played multiple other games (Battlefield 1, Destiny 2, Forza Motorsport 7) fine even on 1440p res on my tv and they all play fine with HDR exept this one.I have a GTX 1080ti!

I am running Assassin's Creed Origin at 4K resolution locked at 45fps via game video option menu. Game runs very smoothly with VSYNC on through Nvidia control panel. HDR is working beautifully but i have noticed one irritating issue. The issue only occurs during night sequences of the game. Orange color speckled artifacts randomly flicker on main character and npc's when in motion and it gets worse if ambient fire lighting is present. If I turn HDR off when these random artifacts appear it goes away. The artifacts are also not present during day sequences of game with HDR enabled. Has anyone else experienced this or have a solution?

Are you sure any OSD/overlay software such as MSI Afterburner is disabled?

Can you play in 4K60 in 10bit RGB with HDR?
How do you get 10bit on full RGB? I can only see option to choose 8bit.
Anyway RGB will not support HDR it seems. Need to set to YCbCr 422 with 10 or 12bit
Sorry i was thinking your on a HDR monitor, HDMI for now have not the option to use 4k 60hz rgb full range. HDMI 2.1 will do i think.

HDR on AMD 390 Please

This game has really buggy HDR for me. One day the HDR plays fine with gorgeous contrast and brightness then suddenly the HDR switches to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ version with overblown contrast and muted color. The problem fixed itself one time after my computer got Green Screen of Death. Now the problem comes back for unknown reasons. I don't know if it was because I didn't turn HDR on desktop before launching the game or not.

My PC is

Do I have to set my Windows 10 also to HDR? Because it appears to work without it? I mean, having Windows 10 not set to HDR and just activating in the game?

What monitor or TV you have?
I Dont need te set HDR on in windows 10 and Nvidia drivers i use default, my monitor go directly in HDR modus if i select HDR in game, and the monitor go automatic in to 10 bit mode RGB full range. display port 1.4 in use.

I'm still not able to make it work on my brand new LC27HG10QQUXEN from Samsung with an HDR600. Anyone have any clues ?

Did you ever figure this out? This is happening to me with a 3060 Ti and the latest drivers.
