fps drop on GTX 1660 Super

I play this game right now 57 hours in the game, but everytime im in town my fps drop to 1 sometimes between 20 - 45 fps also it freeze 3 to 4 seconds.

My RIG:
Ryzen 3 3300x
GTX 1660 Super
16gb Ram 3200mhz Dual Channel

Its not the drivers. Using drivers that are over a year old is not necessary. I was running game fine on 471.11. No issues.

There is something else wrong with your PC. As I stated above, use DDU that has a guide to uninstall drivers. Than try 471.11.

my driver is updated today 471.96, but still thank you for trying to help me. I just accept that this game is the problem not my PC.

Nope, plenty of videos with your same specs that benchmark higher. It is not the game.

If you arent tech savvy or willing to do all that troubleshooting I understand.

yeah if you benchmark it in the game it will give you 70+ fps average but when you playing it like the character is in town the game freeze and stuttering. I don't have any problem if the character on open field the fps is smooth.

I watched some gameplay footage of your 1660 super in Alexandria. When running game on High and Ultra it does have the dips you described. However, it is an entry level card and you shouldnt have settings that high.

If you want to smooth out gamplay set graphic settings to low - med. Also, in NVIDIA control panel. Set Texture Filtering - Quality to High Performance. That will help too.

Game is cpu heavy. I have noticed that even on my 3600x towns like Alexandria cause my cpu to max out at 90%. So if you don't have a cpu with a lot of cores you will likely not have a fun time.

I tried CPU Lasso, tried fiddling with the Nvidia conrol panel, all to no avail. This instalment is my most favorite among the last 3. Odyssey and Valhalla seem to run far better than Origins. Please, someone, just dump some suggestions on me. I wanna play the game on high-ultra with fps that's closer to 60

i'm hesitating to buy Odyssey because of how Origins is performing in my RIG. now that I read your comment maybe I will buy Odyssey.

i'm hesitating to buy Odyssey because of how Origins is performing in my RIG. now that I read your comment maybe I will buy Odyssey.

You should definitely try it, everybody says its more optimized than Origins and I can confirm that at the very least Odyssey doesn't overload CPU like Origins. However, I haven't gotten to any big cities in Odyssey, I mainly only played on the starting island and the one next to it, but my experience was much smoother none the less. That said, I do urge you to try both Odyssey and Valhalla if you can and compare their perfomance on your rig to Origin's.

i'm so late at this but can someone help me? i'm currently playing ac odyssey and i capped it on 30 fps because all i want is stability

here's my laptop specs:
ryzen 5 4600h
gtx 1650 4gb
16gb dual channel ram

with high setting preset

i tried everything on websites (steam, reddit, etc.) and youtube but it didn't help. i'm fu*king tired of this ♥♥♥♥. can someone please explain? i just want to play it stable on 30fps...
