update 24h2, no problems on 23h2
This is not a windows 10/11 problem.
It's a problem caused by Ubisoft.
Why can i be sure about this?
I played Origins in 2021 without problems on Win 7.
I tried this week to play Origins on the same PC with the same windows 7.
I didn' t do any update on this windows 7 since more than 7-8 years.
Nor did i do any update on my GFX drivers since 5-6 years on this old PC.
That makes it clear, that Ubisoft f**ked one of the updates in the last 3 years.
If you are on Windows 11 24H2 than you have bad luck since it doesnt seem like there is any working fix available outside of installing an older Windows version. At least none I could find. Its up to Ubisoft or Microsoft to fix it and wouldnt wonder me if they never. More likely some tech savy modder comes along and saves us at some point.
Had this problem too in 2018. Fix was to limit the framerate to 60FPS. These newer AC games or rather their engine seem to have a crap tons of reasons to run bad or crash all the time and Ubisoft is just like shrug.
I'm glad that I got it on sale, but I'm still tempted to refund it, at least until the problem has been fixed.
