Roman Octarenes?
Can someone help give me guidance on how to defeat the twin Roman Octarene ships when playing as Laya? I have tried around 30 times but they keep attacking with firebombs etc and destroying me. Any suggestions please?

I posted this yesterday, can anyone give me an answer please? Also, how do you change the difficulty level in this game?

Hi

I had a lot of trouble with that too.

What I did is turn to the left at the start and stay far away from the enemy ships, firing repeatedly at them as soon as possible with the bowmen. I never rammed anyone or got close much of the time I was firing over the intervening ships.

I stayed on the outside of the battle and was able to do more damage to them they they did to me.

It took me a few tries after I decide to stay away from the them but I did it.

Be sure to aim accurately and don't waste shots.

Hi Mike, thank you for that information, I will give that a try, have tried close quarters, ramming, hiding behind the other ships that are with you but always defeated!

Tried what you said but they just followed me and it was relentless, tried another 11 times doing that but was sunk every time!

Use the other allied ships as protection, you can aim at the ships following you to, if you are rowing hard they shouldn't be able to catch up with you, try and pick a target and get rid of one of them so that you have fewer to fight.

Watch your stamina, don't row flat out when you don't have to, save it until you want to sprint.

If going left and the start doesn't work try turning right what ever gets you away from them.

I was able to keep them at some distance away, and continue to fire at them but only when the targeting graphic is red so you will hit them. Don't just fire over and over without being on target.

You have to kind of watch where they are going and steer away.

It was always close but I would edge them out the end, the ones with the yellow box around their name are the tough ones, try to target them first and get them burning they become less effective the more damage you do to them if their sails are burning they slow down.

And use the brace key when you can, it seems to reduce the amount of damage you take like blocking.
