How's performance in 2022
I want to play again but the last time I installed (last year) performance was hot garbage (stutters, no fps gain despite setting changes). On a 3080m/5900HS laptop so my specs are good enough.

Performance is very good let me say that before i had a 970 and 3600 and i would get low fps stutters and could barely get 45ishfps at 1080p. But with current hardware a 3070, 5600x i get 90-110 fps at 1440p which is very smooth.

My Driver Version 496.76 .
My rig i5 10400F (have an aftermarket coolermaster cpu cooler)
Gigabyte RTX 3060 12Gb Eagle OC
Ram HyperX 16 GB DDR4
temp of cpu gpu is around 48-52c on 60 FPS 1080p

My Graphic Settings in game High Preset Except ( Dynamic Resolution - Off, Fog - Medium, Volumatric Clouds - Off, Depth of Field - On )
V-sync - On in game, Fps - Locked at 60
Note - I didn't touch Nvidia Control panel or Game Exe. Properties.
Getting a very smooth 60 fps stable performance.
Ultra settings doesn't give a huge graphics improvements to me so why losing fps by using this. Well I have experienced this game with my old GPU GTX 970 4GB but with locked 30 fps with ultra settings. Graphically didn't see any improvements except clouds.

In my opinion ultra & very high settings of AC Origins is not perfectly optimized. Only high settings is kinda optimized because of console, Console used high settings 30fps (not stable) , now on PS5 they just uncapped the framerate to 60(the settings is still high).

The fun fact is in the AC Odyssey with Ultra/Very High(custom) preset (Fog - Medium & Volumatric Clouds - High) 60 fps locked. Getting very smooth 60 FPS performance. No idea why it's happening does DX11 DX12 problem ?

I agree, the game used to be better optimized for pc. I went from having a very high benchmark score back in ~2018-2019 with ultra settings to medium on the lowest settings earlier in 2022. Checked it out with the new update, 1.60 i think it is, and it seems to be running worse for me. I can run valhalla on highest settings with 45-60 fps. I don't understand what they did different with origins.

DX11 is what's different

Huh? Origins has always been DX11. As for Valhalla that is DX12 so in sense should perform better.

I'm going to try this setting out when I reinstall. I have the 3060ti and it would run over 100fps+ at mostly ultra settings. Then it would drop really bad in Alexandria and any big cities. 30fps and it is always 30fps dips. I have to cap fallout4 in a similar 60 fps because the engine breaks. I also believe it's because the new graphics card drivers are not compatible with most dx11 games. If I last recall there was a nvidia driver update fixing a few dx11 related games a month ago or so. Unfortunately this game wasn't on the list 😮‍💨 but ac Odyssey was that's why it's running better. So yea...

However I still get a 1 to 5 second stutter when switching to Senu in cities/high CPU-usage areas, as well as certain bodies of water. It levels out right after though. Loading into a new area reintroduces stutter for a couple of seconds so I feel it may be an asset loading thing.

Unfortunately, the water-flicker issue is still a thing with this game, although nvidia has acknowledged this as of 5/18/22.

Anywhere we can check on the flickering issue regarding whether Nvidia is gonna put out a driver workaround?

I would like to know if they fixed the bug that happens underwater in updated drivers?

Developers are really lazy... I believe they could look because the game works normally on the 461.92 driver and not on the current drivers but laziness speaks louder.
