It also has sci-fi elements but only lore-related stuff, nothing that affects gameplay.
From my perspective I would say there are science fiction elements, but keep in mind that is quite a wide and varied category.
The story itself will include the elder civilisation just like our other games, but if we're talking about Egyptian mythology I believe you will only find that in our DLCs.

We still keep to the game's roots! The more fantasy-sized content is within DLC and this let's the game spread its wings a bit more with some stunning new locations and creatures.
