Steam and Ubisoft Connect
I bought Odessey and Origins before I knew about Connect and I have tried to find out this information myself but I dont know what to Google so, I'll ask here.

Since I purchased them on Steam, do I -have- to install them through steam, or is there a way i can install them through Connect? I cant figure out quite how to connect (haha) the accounts together. I always struggle installing games via steam (not an internet issue or pc issue, seems to be a steam issue, a common one apparently.) and Connect is faster. If not, thats totally fine. I just wish I knew about Connect before buying here (the sale in Feb was too good to pass up)

Both store pages for Origins and Odyssey clearly illustrate you need 3rd party software in order to run the game. If you look on store page it is highlighted in gold. Once selected it will tell you about needing Ubisoft Connect to run both games.

When you go to install game thru Steam, which is where you now own it. It will also install Ubisoft connect and once you sign in with your ubisoft account it should than activate. The game will be installed under steam and you will be launching game from there.

However, once you activate game and link your steam account to your ubisoft account. You can also than launch game directly from Ubisoft Launcher once it has successfully registered that you own it.

Here are some links to help get you started.

Yes, you need to install it through steam. If you try to install it through connect, it'll just open steam if it isn't already and start the download through that.

(hope im replying correctly, im not one to use forums often)

I totally didnt notice the 3rd party software notice, as i mentioned if I knew about connect before purchasing during the sales, i would have bought via connect not steam. but at that point in time I hadnt even heard of connect. I now have connect and have been playing valhalla with it and i just like how easy it is to use. But I'm glad to know I can play through connect and not just steam.

Thank you for your help.

Hello there galaxyykitten!

Thanks for helping out here animal_PLANET and Midnight Carnival Snack, and for providing some helpful support articles! I would also recommend that you first link your Ubisoft Connect and Steam accounts together[www.ubisoft.com], as this will then allow you to launch Assassin's Creed Origins via the Ubisoft Connect launcher once installed.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoy using the Ubisoft Connect launcher! If you require help with anything else, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks,

- Ubisoft Support
