Spoiler discussion about an event in the game
Hi there, first sorry for my poor English. I found 3 places in game (tomb) where I had to activate some sort of a pillar where holograms and vocals of some sort started. Can someone explain to me the meaning of the speech ? it was to be honest very well done, deep and out of time. Bayek did not react to it but clearly it was from the future.

Cheers

Its actually from the past and wasnt actually meant for Bayek. It was meant for Layla and Bayek only acted as medium to convey those messages to Layla. But before we go ahead, have you played any other AC game before(except Unity and Syndicate)? Or are you familiar with the overall lore of the series?

I did play and wrap Black Flag. But how can it be from past if Bayek activated it in its time ? one of the speech talks about 2012 ! thanks Lucifer

Its from the future. Its actually from the company that Layla works for. They tried to control the past in Egypt. This is the spoiler.

ah, black flag also doesnt say much about the overall plot. You might already know that in the story of AC, humans were created by an advanced human-like beings who could be compared to gods. These beings who are called "Those Who Came Before" or "Precursors" or "Isu" were so advanced that they can see and manipulate future. They could calculate the probablity of everything that happens in the future and how they could change it in their time. Now, without spoiling the previous games, these advanced people from the past calculated that Layla would visit the memories of Bayek using the animus, so they hid messages for Layla in places where Bayek would visit in his lifetime. Bayek would see those messages but would not understand them. But he would sorta remember them and using Bayek's DNA Layla would finally able to see those messages. Bayek here works as a pipeline of sorts. Now, if you want to ask why those messages exist there for Layla,I would ask you to play alll the other AC games that came before.

LOL people, it's not from the future or the past. It's the present (Bayek's present). They were talking to him (but not really to him) as they did to Ezio in AC2.

"Retransmission. 91 days after the great catastrophe. The messenger speaks."

someone isnt paying attention to the lore.

Nice recap ! very interesting Lore, so by getting that Isu armor, I have on me parts of they're craft (Those who came before) is there any AC game where we actually meet them ?

it pops up like you got a gift.
And then it stays in your inventory.

No, they all died, they only relay the message to layla, through bayek, and desmond.
Jesuit Joe Nov 17, 2017 @ 11:16am
Died from what ? I mean being able to predict the future enough to send message to Layla in ancient Egypt, they should have been able to protect themselve from a certain death ?

You sorta meet them a few times in the previous games. But like the other guy said, they are all dead. You meet the projections of their consciousness.

Its more complicated than that. But we could argue that are protecting themselves in the long run.(cant explain this now).
Not all of them died bcoz of the "catastrophe" i mentioned earlier. About a couple thousand survived. We know that the humans Adam and Eve later start a rebellion against the Isu, but its all fuzzy and incomplete. There are a lot of gaps in the lore so we can only guess what happened.

The Great Catastrophe is what ended the First Civilization in the past, not the 2012 thing that happened in the game
