Defeated Ramesses' Shadow, but "Shadow of a Pharaoh" does not complete...
As the title says. I know it was the correct one as he had the right headdress and wielding the giant mace, and Bayek said, "You do not belong here, great one" when getting near. Is it possible I ran into a game-breaking bug? Or will the problem resolve when I get back into the game and I just defeat the Shadow again? I hope the latter :)

Thanks for the help!

I just had this happen as well. Same exact thing

Yeah, a restart of the game and a re-defeat of the shadow triggered the quest completion and... the rest is history. Literally:

* I have completed all locations in all three major areas of Egypt,
* completed the whole Discovery Tour at least once,
* completed both events in Krokodilopolis, and two of the five in Cyrene.

Unfortunately I just couldn't get a hold of the Hippodrome races for whatever reason. Soooo until or unless Ubi comes out with tours for Sinai and Thebes regions, I believe I may be done with the game :) But it is absolutely wonderful, and I still highly recommend it.

I had it happened to me the first time around too, I just went back to Thebes and day/night forward once to fight him again, turned out the first one I fought may not have been Ramesses but whatever I just did it a second time and done.

Ok, so now I know where the "You do not belong here, great one!" line is SUPPOSED to play. But Bayek in my game has been spouting it randomly all over the place. Doesn't have to be in Thebes, he's said it in the Duat, in just about every location of the map. Even scaling a wall to enter a temple, once when I was on the upper ramparts of a fortress, and even in a remote cave somewhere. Once during a cutscene!! And only ONCE has mine ever said that line anywhere NEAR a Shadow of a Pharaoh.

So, this all coupled with the BSODs every hour or so has really put me off of this game. But, I'd like to finish it, since I can play for about an hour before it decides to hang.

Is there some trick to defeating this final boss? I have yet to see one of them wearing a "special headdress" they all look the same. And every fight goes the same, he runs away to the underworld before I can finish him off. And it not even being Ramesses, I'm probably just wasting my time anyway.

I know to stay near him, heck I've done entire fights pretty much up his butt, but he just runs off. He also always kills all of the locals that are just standing around frozen, no matter what I do. He constantly loses aggro on me and goes after the citizens. And since he can one-shot them into oblivion, and I can only notch away about a half a health bar of his for each citizen he eliminates, it doesn't take long before they're all dead. Nothing I do gets him to leave them alone. He just charges at me once or twice, then takes one of them out. I can stay in his face or up his backside and he still finishes them off pretty quick. And like I said, I can barely do any damage to him before they're all gone and then once I finally get his full attention, he just runs away soon after that.

Whoever thought this was good game design, well I've got news for them: it isn't. Randomly running around trying to find the correct pharaoh's shadow without any indication of that being what we're supposed to be doing is just lame.

Ramesses only appear in the CITY of Thebes and you can use the meditation skill to fast foward time and instantly make a shadow appear. If you are having difficulty killing a shadow, just switch it to easy for this one occassion. I did that and I got over it in 5 minutes.

Anyone have any tips on how to handle the Gods? I have yet to beat any of them. I dance around for upto 30 min and get within a couple of bars.

Upgrade gear as far as possible. Take a light bow with ranged damage multiplier. Take a melee weapon with health regeneration (I usually take health on hit.)

Yes, get a light bow with health on hit, and you'll not only get your health back fairly quickly, but you'll get a full Adrenaline meter as well, and most if not all of the gods take damage mainly from a fully charged Overpower attack. Then, just back away and rinse and repeat. (Pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop.. Overpower attack.. repeat). You can mix in some firebombs for some low-level but repeating damage in between, too.

I actually prefer to overcome the challenge, rather than bring it down in difficulty to get past it. Which I did, tonight, as I learned the movesets and playstyles and figured out how to defeat them....

Only I fought like 5 of them over the course of a few hours while still completing quests, and had the quest disappear and saying I completed the quest.. Never did realize I was fighting the actual Ramesses though. Anyway, they just keep respawning still. Is that normal, or is it another glitch?

You didn't fight the actual Ramesses.

Even though the quest checked off as completed? That's just... silly. There's not any real reason to continue fighting them if the quest is counted as complete.

There are 2 Ramesses, one in RL and one in the afterlife. Also, you need to kill ALL the other pharoahs to stop their shadows from appearing.

If you look at the quest, it says that you need to defeat Ramses in the real world first before you can lay him definitely to rest in the afterlife.

Ah, okay, thanks. Got it tonight, finally. What a rush, fighting those guys. An actual decent challenge for a change. Didn't have to lower the difficulty and had fun defeating them. Thanks for the info.
