hi. i need your help.
my moniter is dell u2718q
my hdr setting : ycbcr422, 8bit, limited, window10 hdr is auto on when start AC:O
when i control in-game hdr setting to 550-350(this is my morniter spec), The screen is too bright.
unwillingly using to 270-200.
And the black level seems not to be good. really bad..
I use msiafterburner. you said msiafterburner ruins the hdr effect.
if i turn off msi afterburner, black level will be ok?
They say it's for quality but implemented it only in the mode where we almost don't give a damn and we only want eye candy. It doesn't make sense.
Im on 04.70.30 LGB7V
Nvidia Driver 390.65
Game Version 1.2.1
Tv settings:
Hdmi input set as gameconsole or game. NOT PC!! (Washed out picture)
+Game Mode Picture setting. On this model the game console input lag is also a little bit lower according to hdtvtest
Hdmi ultra hd deep colour setting on.
Nvidia driver:
So you can set it manually to 442 10bit but you will have false colors in other games like for exmp. Far cry 3. So you have to adjust it every time you want to play an other game.
I let windows do the change automatically by using standard colour setting in the nvidia panel and not nvidia colour setting.
So if you turn on hdr in the game it will automatically change to 422 10bit.
Ingame hdr setting 1000/150
Also trying 900/150 so i can see more details in the sun. Not sure what is correct.
In 4k with hdr on i have about 5-10 lower fps compared to hdr off.
Benchmarks, ca. 8300 off and 7400 hdr on.
Do you guys see any performance diffrences?

Probably depends on the TV but I keep my contrast at max 75 because I don't like it to bright. The HDR nits is more quality than brightness. Contrast is what hurts my eyes. In my opinion.
This is false.
The 1000 nits requirement is only for LCD panels. The HDR spec only requires 540 nits for OLED panels because of the fundamental difference in the way pixels are lit.
Just wanted to say...you sir are a legend.
I had my 980ti working with my OLED 55 C7V for a long time, upgraded to the MSI Duke 1080ti (£150 from a friend who did a couple of months mining with it, works fine) and for the life of me couldn't understand why HDR content such as AC Origins was unplayable, extremely dark, washed out.
Searched the net, couldn't find the answer, then I saw your post and the penny dropped, I had the same problem with the 980ti and only installed MSI Afterburner last night for the FPS OSD to check framerates in non HDR games before I upgraded.
Exited Afterburner and Riva Statistic Tuner (the OSD component), all working fine again.
Thanks again.
