How long is a day?
Hi there,

Can't seem to find an answer to this, can anyone please tell me how long a day/night cycle is? I thought it would be 24 minutes like most other games but it seems to be longer than that.

Thanks!

Hi Storm,

I'm not sure of the exact time, to be honest. You are able to change it though in case you didn't know.

You can unlock Bayek's ability "Dawn & Dusk" which changes the cycle. Just hold the map button and he'll start to meditate, the game then speeds up time.

Thanks

Hey,

Yeah no thanks, I'll get that skill at some point, still very early game for me, only level 13 now and I don't want to do that boost thing to 45, want to enjoy the game.

Still just curious, I haven't played "a full day" yet because a lot of the time, you'll get a cut scene and then afterwards the time of day is clearly very different than what it was before the scene so it's very hard to get a clear idea.

I increased day/night cycles to 220% in the Animus control panel to give me fuller nights/day cycle.

hehe, I like the EXTRA 20% you added there :)

When 200% is not enough, go 220! :D

I also increased Sandstorm activity a little and damage.
Enemy damage and health increased to 150% up from Hard settings.
Every fight is just that ...a battle...:steamhappy:

Don't worry, the tweakable settings still exist for the game, but you have to adjust them in a .ini-file while the game is running with your save file loaded
  • Go to C:\Users\*YourPC*\Documents\Assassin's Creed Origins
  • There you will find a file called ACP.ini
  • Before you open the .ini file, start the game and load your Animus Control Panel-enabled savefile.
  • Then open the ACP.ini with the editor. There you can adjust all the settings by putting in valid values.
  • If you're only looking for the setting to adjust your Day/Night-Duration, (like me), the setting is called DayPeriodTimeModifier. 100 is the default value. Values smaller than 100 make the days go shorter, values up to 400 make them longer.
  • Once you changed your desired values, save the file and it should prompt you save it as a new file. Simply override the current file with the new one.
  • If everything was done correctly the game should display a message box in the top right corner confirming the changes to the Animus Control Panel. "Animus Control Panel settings have been applied."

Hopefully this helps you and anyone else who may come across it on a later day.
I just started playing this game myself (don't have it on Steam, Ubisoft Connect only) and was surprised to see the feature was apparently canned. Good thing the actual functionality of the ACP wasn't removed, only the user interface for it is gone now.

And if you want to get rid of the annyoing ACP watermark, use this mod here[www.nexusmods.com] with Resorep to replace the texture responsible for it.

I don't have that ini.file there, what do? Animus was like 90% of the reason i bought this game and these ♥♥♥♥♥ just decided to remove it because reasons. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

NVM, found it. It was in Documents, not in the folder of the game files, my bad
