Am I the only one hoping this game has Egyptian as an language option? Or at least Arabic?

Of course. It's just part of the immersion.

Well it wouldn't actually help with immersion at all because in the period this game is set, They didn't speak Arabic or Egyptian.

We know how to read Ancient Egyptian but how it was spoken still remains a mystery to us, So if they spoke Arabic or modern day Egyptian it would actually be counter intuitive and historically inaccurate thus making it less immersive.

Sorry when it comes to this part in time i'm a bit of a nerd lol

I'd rather just take English because its a language i actually understand. In this instance i'll take a language i understand as being historically accurate is impossible and being who i am, Arabic or Modern Egyptian would annoy me more then English,

Nothing wrong with that, though I wouldn't mind the option to choose.
I don't understand a word of the Arabic or Egyptian language, but watching for example historical movies set in Japan where all the actors speak english and are usual of chinese heritage makes me cringe.

@manic221 I don't dispute your point but yes, it does enhance the immersion. I'll take Egyptian or Arabic other any other language in this specific game.

Well it doesn't because it's still historically inaccurate. English obviously is also historically inaccurate but Arabic or modern Egyptian wouldn't be better we all have opinions though i suppose

I think for the majority of people, having arabic/egyptian VA would be better for suspension of disbelief compared to english. It's subjective of course.

Well, if you are being so black and white about historical accuracy, I think you are playing the wrong game then.

I'm a bit confused where the hostility has come from?

Arabic or Modern Egyptian would be no better then English that is a fact as far as "immersion" goes.

And infact for someone who does know something about history it would actually be WORSE then English and downright immersion breaking cause it would make the rest of the game FEEL badly researched which is definitely not the case

You are entitled to your opinion. I happen to think your wrong but there you go.

We are NEVER going to agree about this and your hostility is unwelcome

@Manic221 My apologies if my previous comment had a hostile and/or sarcastic tone since that was never my intention. I love history (dad was a History teacher so runs on my veins) and you seem quite knowledgeable and I respect and admire that. What I am saying is that though modern Egyptian and Arabic are not historically accurate to the period Ubisoft is portraying here, it is far more accurate than a West Germanic language like English is. Details like this is when a developer has to draw the line between über accuracy and "it's just a game".

Are both languages inaccurate? Yes, and you are completely right. Is one more immersive than the other? Yes, since one of them is closer and probably related/evolved from the ancient language spoken in Ancient Egypt.
