They are all partly standalone (with the exception of Ezio). But it's not just about the one game, it's about the lore, backstory, characters and factions across all games. It's about how it all ties together that makes it awesome.
I highly reccomend you watch some videos of the stories and world of Assassins Creed & read about it all on the Wiki, though I would REALLY reccomend playing some of them too.
For Origins specifically, we don't know anything about it. The Egypt story will be it's won thing, sure. Though the character has a distinct feature (no spoiler) to a previous character in the series, so it's liekly connected.
Personally I would not buy it if you didnt play the others and I simply can't recommend any of them other than maybe the first.
I understand that all the games are amazing. I have heard great things about both the game and the story and well it is one the most popular gaming series! I really would like to experience the whole series by playing all of it but i really do not have time to complete one, and there are like 5? idk. That was why i was wondering whether it can be played just based off the story! :D
So would I be lost if this is my first assasin's creed game?
