Full Open World?
So, this is a first open-world assasins creed? You can travel around egypt, and explore dungeons, pyramids and such as you like without restrictions? Is like a Witcher 3/Skyrim but in a Assassins creed universe?

They've all be open world, but I think I know what you mean.

Yes, there seems to be no loading screens from what we've seen. The entire map is all in 1 without travelling from city to city through loading screens etc.
The map is all of Egypt & is 3x the size of Black Flag.

No not like skyrim because skyrim had loading screens every 2 secs.More like the witcher and Unity.

The devs said it.

Also you could look at the map size. There are videos out on youtube showing that.

There is no "real" open world and since AC series have always been extremely linear imo, then expect a dead world "alot of dead filler" but the outside looking like free world.

Depends on what you call open world, if you think being able to go abit off map, but still have to do linear quest in a dead world (can't interact with most stuff other than whats part of main/side quest) then yes... if you like most think open world is when its true open world!! You don't have to do quest in a particular order, you can manipulate everything and AI cares about your action, then NO not even close.

Yeah i would like to manipulate AI other than just throwing some money. But they said that the people will have routines and will give quests so we may have some hope there.

Also the whole Open Narrative structure doesnt really work for AC.Primarily because we are Re-living memories.Open narrartive might have worked if AC was set in the present day like WD2.But that is not what AC is about.

Sure that is true, but then its not Open World, that was my arguement. I could agree on it being limited open world, but most action games are that.. (This is also primarily a action game)

Yeah And i agree with you on that.AC is an Action and sometimes adventure game.Adding RPG elements to it should provide enough depth for the passible AI(I mean they said AI in unity had unique behaviour-which they did, just turns out its still not good enough). If the NPC's truly have unique cycles and even the objectives change their location WRT the quest giver,we may have a fantastic game at hand.

A world to explore that's three times bigger than Black Flag (although that was mostly water) could be very daunting. I'd rather have a smaller but more interesting map to explore, especially in AC games were getting from one side to another can be a chore.

Well they are saying that a lot of npc's will be giving out quests. So iam guessing this will ahve more of a skyrim or witcher 3 like feel where you roam around doing the side quests.
Jamison Jun 17, 2017 @ 9:30am
the map size is that of Black Flag, but mostly land. The map isn't 3x bigger than Black Flag. Judging by the gameplay video, I think the size could be comparable to Skyrim also.
