How to unlock the "Zip it Off" achievement?
Zip it Off
Perform 3 Assassinations from a zipline (The Hidden Ones)

I have the full game and all DLC and also all the abilities unlocked. But in the Quarry at the start of "The Hidden Ones" DLC in the Sinai, I simply cannot get the darn Steam achievement to unlock. I have performed at least 30 such assassinations from the zip line and still it will not unlock.

I leads me to believe that I am not using the proper key while on the zip line.

- I jump onto the zip line somewhere higher up via Alt-key.
- Then while sliding down the zip line, you can spam the F-key (bound to the function "Assassinate")...
- You then automatically jump off the zip line and "pounce"/"kill" any soldiers nearby.
- I even see an Assassinate bonus in XP message when I do this.

But that does not seem to work...

Any help/tips is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hmm... I tried all sorts of other methods... i.e. LMB-click to take out the sword before jumping onto a zip line, spamming the F-key to assassinate, while also spamming the left mouse button to actually kill via sword... none of that seems to work.

And... no one seems to have the issue... drat... :(

I wonder if this could have to do with how I played the game: I have still to meet Aya in Alexandria, though I have played everything else in the main game, explored everything and played all the side quests, plus played and completed both DLC. Now only the main quest remains. Hopefully that makes the achievement work at some point...

Well... after finishing the 2 large DLC, I continued the main quest and met Cleopatra for the first time, and then completed the "assassinate the Hyena" quest.

Playing a bonus content quest (the one where you have to destroy 3 carts) I ended up in the Limestone Quarry, in Haueris Nome, that also has zip lines. After killing 4-5 enemies, the achievement finally unlocked... I am so glad.

Just mentioning the details if someone should run into a similar issue.

Wait a minute... Isn't Cleopatra the one that gives you the Hidden Blade thus enabling you to assassinate people instead of knocking them out?

I recall her giving me some blade, but I was not clear what that was for. So, apparently, only now was I actually able to "properly assassinate" enemies. A consequence of the unusual way I played the game... thanks for clearing that up.

Yeah, no problem. I only noticed because she talked a bit about the origin of it. Archimedes or some other Greek scholar invented it. And I thought it was weird that when I started the game it said Knock Out on the prompt instead of Assassinate.

I am still not quite clear what the game, at least the way I had played it, was doing. I.e. when I jumping off the zipline I would get the "assassinate" bonus XP... but when in fact "often" I would have only knocked out an enemy. In other cases the enemy did get cut up with a weapon (the sword?)... strange. It seemed almost random. Anyway I am so glad I finally got the achievement.

Mildly amusing side note: I actually played all of the game (not the main quest though) with Buyek not having shaved his beard. I am guessing only a very few folks out there ever played most of the game as the "raw" main character.

Let me get this straight... you completed everything in the game, even DLCs with their side quests and locations, without the hidden blade from the 5/6th mission in the main story? Damn son.

I like to explore the world before rushing into the main quest... that way I know the locations, and have "everything" looted at my leisure without any story getting in the way. Also all the teleport locations are also available... this does lead to "rushing the main quest" though.

Doing the same, found it odd when on one of the side quests (I think it was the Flea of Cyrene) Bayek mentioned that he shaved his hair, despite having a beard and not shiny head.

Just to be clear though, this achievement can't proc until you have the Hidden Blade, yeah?
