Medjai? Bayek? Kill who and why?
So i just started this game and i get thrown into its beautiful world and finding great pleasure in the combat system. But i gotta kill ppl for what reason? and what is a medjai? did i accidentally skip the prologue or did ubisoft accidentally forget to write a story for this game? I disliked every AC game because of the towers, repetitive icons on the map and terrible controls. Origins nearly got me but not explaining me anything in the beginning is a no-go. Sry Ubi but you can't make friends with garbage.

A Medjay is a sort of elite police unit, protecting the land and its people. The people you are killing are either part of a group that caused you to kill your son (standard revenge plot), corrupt officials or other other policing forces, Greek soldiers that are harassing, abusing, stealing, and otherwise harming the people of Egypt, and your typical bandits.

This is all found by simply playing the game, listening to the dialogue, inferring from the story, going through the Discovery Tour; really just by paying attention, an ability sorely lacking in most gamers these days.

They remind you what a Medjay is every 5 minutes. Use your eyes and ears.

Nah most people just skip the cutscenes I admit it I did it when I was a kid too because I wanted to play the game but. Cutscenes provide the story and the interest just pay attention to it and dont skip and then you have your story

Its not like the cut scenes are all that long. They aren't Kojima-length. ;)

😂😂😂
I think this guy is confused on the story timeline. Yes Medjay is some sort of a police unit but, this took place in ancient times i think the law is hell of a different then modern times, now. Like we have a drone. camera, identification, etc. I think in that timeline its easier to get away with murder, theft, rape or whatever. Bayek become an assassin throught the game so, he do a really good job of what assassins do... kill. But i think bayek doesnt care too much, at least in his believe killing all the edgelord will make egypt great again.

Its not ur fault if u dont understand. I think the dialogue is cringe worthy and they fail to deliver the story, the writing is ♥♥♥♥ but still its a great game

I got it all explained after the 1st hour. Not sure what went wrong with the intro, they kind of failed. I usually give a game 1hr to convince me to continue. Too many games out there that want to be played so you dont want to waste your time with the bad ones. Had to give Origins 2hrs but now i'm 30hrs in and i might go until the end. Great game. Just the worst possible prologue.
yep, kinda agree with you about the prologue. But if you are familiar with AC series ofc you know that main character's love one get killed then eveything happens. Lul

Medjay = royal-picked protectors, but since there is a major power shift going on at the time of the game, Bayek finds himself on the wrong side of the law. The new rulers don't want his kind ruining their plans, so they put a price on the medjays' heads to eliminate the opposition.
