How bad is the grind? XP boost worth it?
I've heard some people mention a grind. How bad is it? Can you lvl fast enough to play only the main quest-chain? Or, will I fall behind and have to do side quest to catch up? I'm wondering if a XP boost is worth it...

Never buy exp boosts or even a single microtransaction. Not worth the money, you can easily lvl up doing some side quests. It's not that hard like in Odyssey. Both aren't games planed to be rushed through main storyline alone without any side quest or visiting some places though.

Certain people complain about a 'grind' becuz they play an open-world game like a linear game and expect the game to carry them all the way through. Most of them are so-called professional reviewers who play games as a job rather than for enjoyment thus rushing through the basic content and make an essay/video outta it.

Take part in at least half of the side missions the game offers and you're already swimming in game money and experience.

Although I love to play, I'm a family man with little time. I get to play a couple hours a week at best. If a game takes 40hrs to complete, then that means I'm spending a good portion of the year on that ONE game. Can't do that.

Again I ask...

Can you lvl fast enough to play only the main quest-chain? Or, will I fall behind and have to do side quest to catch up?

Then you picked the wrong game as this is everything the opposite of rushing.

Should've chosen CoD for 10 minutes per match.

ahah.
ahahah.
what is OPEN in this openworld?
every location is separated by level so there is no freedom of movement.
and every mainquest separated by 2-5lvl gap that force player to grind sides and camps to get there, which damages the immersion, player sometimes lose the narrative thread.
player doesnt have a freedom of choise.
it is the same stream line as in "linear game", its just flooded with lower quality "activities" that allows to smear a 5-7hour-ish main plot into 70hours grindfest.

yet its not as bad as Odissey which is single player asian mmo, revolving around monetization system and not around gameplay.

author of the thread - if you want to know what Origins feels like - imagine Dark Souls without Bosses, where you play shield-window-attack gameplay for 70hours against ordinary mobs.
Gl&hf.

P.S. it still has some brightsides like you get to know why Assassins started to cut fingers and who heroes wife really is. but nothing more sadly.

hey O_P im in the same position as you. cant do the story right in a row, gotta grind some sidequests to get to the next spot and be the appropriate level. on the other hand its not many at all, maybe one or two per main mission. but it does add up timewise so i totally understand where youre coming from.

What a weird and creepy insecure insult to CoD out the blue there. CoD has a campaign too you know, and maybe he does have CoD and wanted a single player game that wasn't a shooter.

Where is that "you just went full ♥♥♥♥♥♥, never go full ♥♥♥♥♥♥" meme to fit you here?

Grind is an actual activity and a word. It is not a religion that "exists" in some gamers minds. Lmao

I het ur point. But i think many games do "grind". Now imo ark is a grindy game from time to time. This is almost a chore righr?!
Imo if folks think games are chore or log on to do chores then yes the grind is real. And again. Imo. If folks feel that way perhaps this is the wrong game.

the side quest add onto the main quest, most of them have you doing stuff and learning backstory on the targets you're trying to kill, or the mini targets you'll be killing.. It gives a reason for why that person should die..

Personally if you just go around exploring and doing Side Quest you'll have plenty of money and XP.. atleast for me personally I do.. I'm at like 27 - 28 right now, and gaine a new level every other hour of game play.. Then again I'm not playing speed rush 9000...

There is no grinding in this game, just fun. You want to grind, play WoW.

You do realize CoD is the constant record-breaking series of ever shortening the singleplayer section of a game right? The mass hate doesn't generate outta thin air.

Talk about insecurity and we have this tool come rushing in here white knighting... :steamfacepalm:

What grind, lmao.

Play the game, there's no grind. There's no MMORPG repetitive tasks.
There is no grind.
