I thought they had fixed it by now.but no using 100% percents of my i7700,too much stress on it!
is there a fix by changing some settings manually or should i refund?

The game is just that CPU demanding. My 9700K also has all 8 cores at 80% at all times. I mean just look at all the citizens in the cities. Demanding to render and progress their AI all the time.

what AI dude!they are just random bot npc with maybe maximum 3 or 4 functions! no this is bad port as i said in my review for the game due to multiple drm layering! i tested the pirated drm free version, you can torrent it workes a lot better! uplay fix this asap! this is 2020

There is a player support section now, you can try asking there.

my RYZEN 5 3600 (6 Cores and 12 Threads) is about at 50% at Alexandria. I'm running 1400x900 Res at high using RX570.

I think there is a bug in the game where it doesnt run good on certain CPUs. I actually noticed too, that I have 100% usage in Alexandria and the game stutters all the time, like its loading or allocating something all few steps... Weirdly enough my old AMD FX9000 CPU didnt have this and its way worse than the i7 9700K.

Its most likely bound to big cities with a lot of people and objects.

But there were tons of these threads over the years from my memory and like 1million solutions, from which none works. I think its the game or the engine that has a serious issue but Ubisoft doesnt seem to care fixing it. I once heard of some mod or tool that was supposed to fix these rendering, CPU & VRAM allocation issues but from what I am seeing, this tool doesnt work anymore with the latest version of the game... Weee...

So yeah. Same boat now too. I just started replaying it. Its a great game. :(
If you can still refund it, I would do it. I dont think there is really a fix for this right now, beside of using a different CPU. But who knows, maybe one day someone will actually fix this, since Ubisoft cant be bothered. I actually noticed the same issue in Ghost Recon Wildlands now too... I cant believe it... Maybe a general modern Ubisoft game problem with many of their engines.

It's a very CPU intensive game, and some are hit harder than others. More cores/threads helps a lot, and in my experience 4core CPUs have a bad time.

TBH 100% isn't too much stress as long as you have temperatures under control. If the game runs smooth and temps are okay then I wouldn't worry about it. If temps are high then maybe look at better cooling. If the game stutters and hitches here and there, then try finding a DRM-free version and see if that runs better. From what i've seen, gutting out the DRM cuts out some CPU spikes, so might help.

I dont know if Babaximus has the same issue but I have exactly the issue that the thread starter on Anandtech has. EXACTLY the same. The thing is, it seems like there is no working fix for this problem anywhere on the worldwideweb. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

This is what happens when you support gaming industry by purchasing full price gold edition game and devs dont give a damn care!

Do you also get weird stutters when it reaches 100% like in cities? Would be interesting to know.

Btw, try using 60FPS limit. With this I only have 80% usage and it stopped stuttering.

sometimes when checkpoints happen. it on 60fps caps. in the cities it varies from 80% to a 100%
tortoise Dec 29, 2019 @ 5:17pm
nah idk man ive had at max 60% cpu usage on it, i have an OMEN computer so ig i think its a lil more powerful but still wtf 100% must be a glitch
PorcusGrunzus Dec 30, 2019 @ 1:09am
Yeah its weird. I see some people claim it never reaches 100%. Then again, maybe these people dont play on maximum game settings. Or use a 60FPS limit, which seems to fix this problem with 100% usage and stutter.

Just a shot in the dark, but try to disable core parking if you haven't already:

Also, if comfortable, see if your chipset and mobo have fireware updates. For me even after 10-20 years at this updating firmware is always something to take seriously.

I just downloaded Red dead 2! its running like a butter even on crowded party of city and both my cpu and gpu usage are around 40%to 70% max running on ultra 1080p 60fps! You saying origins is more demanding than rdr2??be real to yourself, this needs to be patched period.

What graphics settings are you using? The high cpu usage is usually the result of this

than high settings, but if you've turned the character detail settings up, that certainly won't help.
