Game Save Location

Hi,

i am about to do a fresh system reinstall (upgrading my rig). Just want to make sure I don't lose my game progress. Where is the game progress saved on harddrive exactly for this game? Or is the progress saved on cloud?

Suspect it is here:

X:\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\9bfaa4f1-d89a-4427-a1b4-68a10672d801\3539

or similar.

I couldn't find AppData folder at all, are we talking about the same game (ACO)?

It depends on which version of the game you have:

for Uplay only versions of the game, it's..
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegame\3539

For Steam versions, it's..
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegame\4923

Unless you installed Uplay somewhere else, then you may have to hunt a little bit for it. Uplay has a Settings section that will help point you to the right place.

Or is the progress saved on cloud?

It can be, but only if you have that option enabled. You might want to enable the cloud then trigger a save by fast traveling, then exit the game and let that update. Then, for extra protection, find the save location on your hard drive and manually back it up somewhere.. another disk drive that won't be getting formatted, or upload it to your own cloud service, and make a copy on a flash drive. Can't be too careful with your progress.

No problem. Even being careful I wound up losing about 15 minutes of progress when I switched to a new system in the middle of my playthrough. Still don't know how I managed to mess it up. Probably forgot to save the last night I stopped playing before I migrated.
