Will playing discovery mode first spoil the base game?
Like all the locations will already be seen if I play discovery mode but I read you get a Senu skin by playing it but I don't want to spoil the game in any way.

Discovery mode is literally just wandering around the map playing as many characters from the game and taking tours around the buildings. There's no combat or any gameplay whatsover but it will ruin the story as it'll show some characters and you'll see many places key to the story.
Discovery mode is great for after-game when you just wanna run around and learn about Egypt.

You can select areas you want to visit, characters to play so in that way spoilers can be minimized.. :steamhappy:

Other than getting to see the insides of some few areas that are otherwise story related, I doubt you would spoil all that much for yourself, really. I don't think there is anyhing in the Discovery Tour that will ruin or take away from your game experience.

Discovery Mode won't really spoil anything for the main game. It's more of a fun learning experience to allow you to explore and learn Ancient Egypt.

Not really "fun" learning. It is as much fun as a game where the whole gameplay/interactivity consists of following a line and listening to completely detached pieces of information....oh, wait....

Some people with a bit of intellectual curiosity find learning to be fun. Museums and historical tours are still a thing people enjoy doing. The Discovery Tour is not vastly different.

I agree with that. I started the Discovery Tour just to get the Senu skin, thought I was going to rush through... Finally found myself listening to most of the Tours, there's really interesting stuff in there.

Won't spoil your experience. Actually, it may even enrich it, as it'll give you some background about what you see and who you meet during the actual game-play, which will increase immersion.

I absolutely agree and I wish I had taken the tours before I even started playing the game. I’ve seen and learned about so many things in the tours that made me think “ohhh! That’s what those things are...” or “oh, I have never noticed that before.” I think I would have appreciated the environment in the game even more had I known the history attached to everything.

As a child, you wouldn't have been able to drag me away from something like this. The "game" would have been something I would have immersed myself in and enjoyed for a long time. As an adult, it was quite enjoyable, and I agree with those who say it's something that people who find learning to be fun and it's similar to how museums are set up.

And the fact that they left the tours "open" so you can go wherever you want is a priceless addition. Beautifully done.

I loved the discovery tour but what bothered me was SJW nonsense that was included like covered/censored nude statues and paintings.

But most mind boggling where they basically went "for the sake of politcal correctness, we distorted history in the main game and have both genders studying together although it is not accurate". That part was bad, it was literally making a political statement and shoving a particular view down my throat. Don't get me wrong, I am all for co-ed but please don't shove it down my face still.
