What are those white structures?
Those round white pillars with the holes that so often are high points to sync. They look like massive bird-motels. What purpose would those serve? I've no doubt they actual exist, but i have no clue why anyone would build them.

Correct about the pigeon.

But Pigeons are a delicacy in Egypt, traditionally served roasted and stuffed with fragrant rice.

'The pigeon tower is an ancient method of raising and keeping pigeons within a farm or a house near green areas. Although there are other modern buildings and techniques that are more efficient in keeping pigeons, old is gold as they say.

Pigeon towers are unique icons and beautifully shaped, made with all natural materials and a design that allows fresh air to blow through. Pigeon owners often allow their birds to fly around through the fields.

Aside from being bred for consumption, pigeons are also raised as pets. They are really beautiful birds that have a special voice, wisdom and family structure. Pigeons are extremely peaceful and raise their young together.'

I think what your talking about is the pigeon homes, I believe that's where they would go to rest when delivering letters, at least I think so....

That's pretty cool.

They were white to reflect the sun so as to keep the interiors cooler too.

They're now called dovecotes; not sure what the name would be in Ancient Egypt.

Eggs, eating, and dung for fertilizer. Don't think there was much mail being delivered by pigeons in Ancient Egyptian times.

Is there any record of any major civilization being the first to mass utilizing pigeons for message delivery? Many societies of old across different continents seemed to have figured out pigeons were particularly good at the job. Perhaps it's through centuries of painful trial and error runs but for some reason they all came to the same conclusion.

Imagine the mess and smell!!

AC:O should re-create that.

Reminds me of an old poem:

Little birdie flying by
Drops a message from the sky
Angry farmer wipes his eye
But then thanks god that cows don't fly.

The thing that kept confusing me was that none of them had doors in them. The keepers had to have ways to get inside to clean up, to harvest the eggs, and whatnot. I just never found any with doors in them. Would make it hard to get inside them, if they were designed this way in real life.
