Is it the optimization or is it just a graphically demanding game?
I am just confused if this game truly is pushing PC's to the next level or if its just an optimization issue. Can anyone clear this up?

I don’t even know since my i7 6700K and GTX 980ti are pushed to the max 100% utilization almost all the time on both chips. ~ very high, 1080P , constant 60fps

I have a 1070 with an i7 4790k, all I want is 1080p 60fps

unity has better graphics, effects and Npcs and doesnt push hardware like that, so its poor optimization and most probably DRMs, the game has severe issues in cities and around Npcs especially on higher resolutions than 1080p.

Your argument about Unity is simply false.
Game does seem to abuse CPU resources though, but it's unclear for what....

i have an I 5 7600 k with a GTX 1060 6 gig GPU 16 gig o ram win 10 Pro

what i did

set all settings to HIGH < you should try very high with a 1070 or better
Dynamic res = 60 fps
AA = adaptive
volumetric clouds to on

in Nvidia control panel, i made these changes
Anisotropic Filtering = 16 X
Max Pre Rendered Frames = 1
Set Power Management Mode = Prefer Max performance

Nvidia driver 388.13 no geforce EXP installed .. just the drivers

also i did install Razer Cortex game booster version 7.0 as it does seem to help with this game
http://www.filehorse.com/download-game-booster/old-versions/

and had to manually add the game to it

Meh... I was saying that as well for a while. But if you go back and actually look at things in Unity like character models and textures and stuff, it does actually seem to look a little better.

Unity was also a mess at launch, it didn't max CPU usage like this game but it had it's issues. Much better now days, though it's unclear if that's due to patches or just our GPU's being able to brute force it through.

Don't get me wrong, this game looks beautiful. But Unity might actually look better. Of course this is somewhat subjective as well though, so.... there's that.

Thanks for the heads up, just thinking about purchasing the game.

Ah, okay. I honestly do not know where I stand, I played unity on xbox one, cannot judge. I just see people painfully running this game, I just want a smooth 60fps gameplay.

i think its just a very demanding game ..it does look beautiful with the settings i use
just bought the season pass for it today ...as yea its worth it ..in my Honest opnion
(got the base limited edition free as i was a Ubi STAR PLAYER for 2017 and went to E 3 for Far Cry 5 to play it ..didnt care for AC GAMES there ..till i played it on my PC ..got hooked on it right away .. best AC game to date if ya ask me .. and i hate 3rd person games )

also i do not care if it hits my CPU at 100 % or my GPU at 90 % ..thats how games should run
to use all of my hardware . for yrs ppl complained that game never used all of their hardware

well this one does ..and yea it looks amazing once ya tweak your settings properly for your PC

and yes there is a ton of settings low end users skip

and high end PC users skip over ..yea you need to twaek your settings in NEW games from Ubisoft ..to get a good lvl of FPS and quality

same was true with FC 3, 4 and primal .. dont just pick ULTRA

therew are a ton of settings available to tune your game to run at 60 or above FPS if you look em over in the graphics settings panel

also helps if you understand your driver control panel for your GPU

here is my bench mark with my system with Very high settings

if it was as simple as "tweak your settings" then setting everything to super low would result in 60fp stablity. But it doesn't. so clearly that is not the issue with this game
-=SOF=-WID99 Jan 18, 2018 @ 4:37pm
LOL yea ok set your settings to LOW with high end or mid range hardware

and expect it to change once ya restric it from running properly LOL

do you perhaps have a lap top sir ?

im well aware of my hardware, 8320 oc @4ghz, but thanks for playing. When i can run other current games @60fps with the same settings. There is obviously a problem with this game. BTW im not mad that i can only get a stable 40 fps with this game. Just confused as why
Hyrael Jan 18, 2018 @ 5:23pm
It is absolutely an optimization issue, especially CPU. Im currently using my 1080ti in my old rig, which has a 4770k and seriously struggled to get 60fps in cities. I can get 60fps in Alexandria if I notch the CPU up to 4.5ghz but thats more stress than i'd care to put on that chip.
