Map Icons Gone Following "New Quest Available" Notification

I just purchased this game yesterday, and am thoroughly enjoying it thus far. I've run into one small problem; earlier today, I opened the game and received a "New Quest Available" notification, indicating that a new threat had come to Siwa.

There is no quest marker for this new quest, and all of the other markers that had previously appeared on the overworld map have vanished.

I've double checked that I didn't disable the markers through a menu option, and I'm not sure what to do next; the notification for the "new quest" keeps appearing every time I pause or otherwise enter a menu, and has to be dismissed each time. There doesn't appear to be any way to acknowledge that I've seen it (and don't care right now, as I've got other stuff I want to do in the game for the moment).

Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated.

Odd problem that doesn't sound familiar.

I would reboot my system, then retry the game. After that I would verify my files. Lastly I would go to UbiSoft tech forums and look around/post the same info presented here to their website.

Since Google is up everyone's butt, I might try a search using " AC:O map icons disappeared", etc.

Could you have cycled them off with F3 key? While looking at the map, it toggles through the options.

That is a definite possibility. I wound up reloading the entire game (exiting out and starting the program back up), and that fixed the issue at the time I was having it, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for accidentally smacking F3 in the future (I'm playing using an XBox One controller, so I shouldn't be messing with the keyboard overmuch--my cat does occasionally decide to "help," though, so it's good to know where that toggle is).

Can confirm it is a bug if playing with a xbox controller.
