Ability "Kill Loot" and Overdesign achievement description needs some work..
{edit: As well as the description for one of the Abilities, called "kill Loot", that states "When you kill an enemy and animals count towards fulfilling the requirements. See Post #2 below.}

So, I think the Overdesign achievement wording needs a little work..

"Kill a poisoned level 35+ enemy with the torch in less than 30 seconds."

Since animals DON'T count toward fulfilling this achievement, why doesn't it say:
"Kill a poisoned level 35+ human enemy with the torch in less than 30 seconds."?

Because, it's just misleading..
Toasty Lioness does not count!! Aww. :-(

Animals maybe hostile, but they aren't really your enemy. Reading the description for that achievement it never even occured to me to try and get it fighting animals.

Well something doesn't add up, because Ubisoft used the same type of description for another Ability, and it DOES work on animals. Soo... why does it work on animals in one, but in the other an "enemy" has to be a human.

Example of one where killing an animal makes the Ability trigger:

This is the Ability in question — Kill Loot: (Passive) Automatically loot an enemy after a melee kill.

Same thing happens when you kill a bunch of animals with a sword when fighting them, Bayek "loots" them all.

But, in the situation I listed in the original post you don't get credit for killing an "enemy" that is an animal.

Consistency is key. And these two things contradict one another in what counts as an "enemy".

I happen to agree with some people that say animals aren't enemies, I get that. But the game defines "enemies" with different parameters in different situations.

I'm not an achievement kind of guy... if they happen, they happen, but I don't jump through hoops for anyone. This being said, thanks for clearing this up for anyone interested.

I agree that descriptions in many games can be contrary, or not 'thought' out. What the heck is a copy editor anyways?:steamfacepalm:

And to the individual I was conversing with in "chat", I originally had every intent of letting this die, until I came across this interesting tidbit of information of the other Ability that used similar wording. I knew in the back of my mind that something I had seen didn't sit right with me, but I couldn't dredge it up from my memories... until now.

Yes, originally when I saw the achievement I just decided on a lark to test it to see if it would work with animals, I didn't think it would, but being the consummate tester that I am, I decided to give it a whirl. When it didn't work (as I expected) I took a screenshot of the moment and decided to post a thread about it. I thought it was funny. Apparently some people don't have the same sense of humor I do.

And, I have a serious character flaw where I like to argue about things. Even if I don't agree with the position, I grew up with a dad who liked to goad me into "discussions" (that were really arguments) and I had to always take the oppostie side, whether it was my belief or not. Anyone remember debate class in school?

Anyhoo, I wasn't trying to upset anyone, but when I found this other Ability that has a similar description, I decided to bring it back up and point it out.

Because in my mind, having two similar Abilities with similar wording that don't behave the same, it bugs me to no end. I don't really expect Ubisoft to fix it at this point, it's such a minor thing. I can live with the conditional requirements; I can adapt.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. Sorry for any hurt feelings.

A person who proofreads text before submitting it for publishing, or release.

That's my understanding of the term.

How right you are:

Copy editing (also copy-editing or copyediting, sometimes abbreviated ce) is the process of reviewing and correcting written material to improve accuracy, readability, and fitness for its purpose, and to ensure that it is free of error, omission, inconsistency, and repetition.
