Savegame question

Is there a way to copy my save from slot 1 to slot 2? I want to be able to start from this point on a different save without starting a whole new game so I can have 2 different character builds.

Well I started a game on two to see how I would name it and its confusing it. My first game has 4 save files numbered 1 through 4, while the new one has only 2 numbered 5 and 6? I am going to try and copy the first ones and number them 5 through 8 and will see what happens.

My saves don't appear in seperate folders. They are all in the same folder for me atleast but appear to have different numbers, my first save has 4 files numbered 1 through 4 that are titled as follows "1.save" "2.save" "3.save" "4.save" along with a duplicate of each that have ".upload" after "#.save" like "1.save.upload". When I started a second game to see what the second save file would be named I assumed it would be numbers 5 to 8 but there were only a "5.save" and a "6.save". When I tried copying and renaming the files to the second save slot it still had the fresh start in slot 2 when I launched the game but I also forgot to turn off cloud saves so I will try again.

To clarifying..
1.save + 2.save is for the information of your uplay rewards and purchased store items.
3.save + 4.save is the first new game slot in main menu
5.save + 6.save is the second new game slot in main menu
and 7.save + 8.save the third one in main menu

And all save files with an *.upload as extension are from your actual playthrough.
They will be sync with the normal ones if you close the game!
